Do my past academic scores, which are relatively low, reduce my chances of securing admission to top business schools like NYU Stern or Cornell? I have 82 in 10th 72 in 12th 3.3 in my ug and from India

So for the MBA they don’t add much weight to your high school grades (especially in 10th or 12th grade). But remember that your application isn’t dependent on your stats alone!

Hi and thanks so much for watching! So, with 12 years of experience you should check out the Executive MBA programs as they would be better suited for you rather than the regular MBA.

So they have a French learning course that they make you take after you get an admit (you have to come like a week in advance) but in terms of employment I would say that it’s pretty difficult to get a job because of French visa laws.

Hey Ekta, is the Cornell MBA not entirely STEM designated? If there is are specific tracks that are STEM designated, how does one choose them? And also, how does the choice depend entirely on the student, or are there other factors?

The entire Cornell 2 Year MBA is STEM designated. There are courses that you can choose that are related to STEM. But there are also immersions and tracks that you can take in your second year which are part of the tech immersion - so these include the 1+1 program and there is also a separate 1 year Cornell tech mba program which is entirely in NYC.

With backlogs, you need to illustrate to the admissions committee how you’ve managed to have an upward trend despite these setbacks. It’s not about having the setbacks, but rather how you move past them. I hope this helps! 😀

Hi, and thanks for watching! I would say that the GRE has more weightage than the GPA when applying to business school. The GRE is more standardized. But that being said, I think that the overall application process is very holistic.

Hi ishita, I wouldn't recommend using ChatGPT for any of your applications as it will count as plagiarism. Well, my internship was in Canada, a location my school doesn’t recruit for. I’m definitely not discounting how amazing the Cornell network is, but just because you go to Cornell doesn’t mean you’re automatically guaranteed an amazing internship. The brand name only carries you so far.

Of course! You don’t need a brand name to be able to get into an MBA school. I have plenty of classmates who have started their own businesses and don’t have job experience from a prestigious company, but they have shown how their work experience has shaped them for a leadership program such as an MBA.

I was asked mostly technical and fit questions. Since these interviews were conducted internally via the Cornell network we didn’t really have to pull up and do an Excel test. However, I do understand that they do that for external applicants.

Hey! Great video. When the word limit is 500 or less, do they actually check if it’s 10-20 words more than 500?

Yeah, so every bank has a diversity symposium, for people who are Hispanic, Black and for Women. It just normally just a diversity inclusion summit. Each bank has a different name for it.

Do you think it’s worth it to take BITS Hyderabad in the ISA category? I got electrical and electronics engineering. I’m also curious if the experience is any different for the international students, and if it’s difficult to cope with the classes.

I think it depends on if you went to high school in India or not. I felt like the classes were difficult for everyone, (not just international students) but the professors are amazing and very welcoming. They are on top of their game and are always willing to lend a helping hand if you don’t understand something.
