Hey Ekta, Thank you for the video helpful, and a good essay as well, i am from Africa and when I think about applying for a scholarship the first thing that demotivates me is my English, I can write pretty well but when it comes to speaking I seem to catch my breath now and then, if you could give me some tips on how to speak consistently that would be great, thank you!

I think one of the biggest challenges to speaking well is having the courage to do so. One tip I can give you when it comes to speaking well is to make sure to slow down when you speak, it’ll make it easier to catch your breath. Also recording your self and speaking in front of a mirror helps with confidence. I hope this helps!

Hi Ekta! I'm applying to Ross for the 2024 fall intake as well. :) could you tell me a little bit about your scholarship? is it a separate application/sponsor site or is it a part of Ross's application?

The scholarship is based on merit, you can fill out an essay in your application or they consider it based off of your application to the school.

I'm hoping you could provide more guidance for Indian students like me who are aiming for a roadmap, especially those with an average CGPA (7.6) from a 3-year UG program in a STEM field. Yeah actually, as you said and emphasized that you have had a shorter work ex., therefore, you wanted to highlight your leadership qualities at this point at my carrier juncture having 2 years of ex. (might cross 2.5 or 3 till the time of intake) would be a good decision to apply as I am 25 now is there any barriers in terms of age to apply next year or so? I am planning to target the top 15 and planning to take GMAT. Any suggestions or insights would be immensely helpful.

Hi I have done my graduation in electrical engineering ,gpa-3.4 and post that I’ve worked as a software engineer for 1.5years and currently I’m working as a trek leader with a renowned company,next year I will become slope manager in this company..will all these work experience be good for an international mba program? I’ve changed the industry, so will it be an issue?

Changing industries is not an issue, I think it's more about how you strucure it into what your long and short term goals are.

I’m currently an ece major at Wayne state university with a 3.82 gpa. I have an internship as a software engineer. Do you think a mba is possible at ross. I plan to grind gmat and I want to get work experience before. I want to have a ece undergrad with a mba masters because I heard it’s a deadly combo. Thank you!

First of all, a 3.82 gpa is great! I would definitely consider looking into Ross, and aim for a high GMAT/GRE score (if you can!). What are your long term and short term goals? Do you plan to go into consulting or tech? You should tailor your work experience with respect to that.

@@athena2597 my long term goal is to open up my own tech company that revolves around sneakers or fashion because sneakers and fashion are some of my biggest passions. One of my short term goals to to rise to a VP level which I think is definitely possible but I know for sure I need my MBA. After college I plan to go into tech for sure, as I want to stay within software engineering and development. Do you have any recommendations for studying for the gmat and also tailoring my resume to fit that of ross. I plan to reach out to them on Monday to get more information. I graduated my undergraduate this fall so I’m really starting to think about these topics now that I have a path laid out. Thank you for responding!

Yes, giving a GMAT or GRE is normally compulsory. But for some schools they offer a waiver.

I was a bit on the fence between consulting and IB while I was going through the MBA process, initially I wanted to go into consulting because I thought it made the most sense based off of my background. But once I got a chance to see Cornell’s amazing IB program I knew it was the place for me.

@@bacool At the moment, I would love to get the chance to experience working in the field. I definitely think that it's a very engaging and stimulating career. In the long term, I would like to be able to stay in IB for a while. PE is obviously a very lucrative career as well, however it's best to have experience working in IB first.

At the end of this video you stated that you chose Cornell 30,000 over Ross 40,000. Please what informed your decision because I feel like its a lie no offense. Ross is top 10, have better placement and better scholarship then Cornell that is not even in the top 20 or have better scholarships.

I chose Cornell, because I wanted to have the brand of an Ivy League MBA while also getting the opportunity to live in New York. I wanted to live there for some time and do investment banking. Cornell is one of the top 3 schools for IB, and it just felt like the best option.
