Another band you HAVE to check out for their energy alone: Oingo Boingo - watch and listen to a live performances of "Grey Matter" and "Who Do You Want To Be" for a start ( the'85 version at the N.Y. Ritz) . The band's master mind btw is Danny Elfman, well renown movie composer nowadays... ((Oh, and both bands MO and OB are NOT and never have been punk bands...)) Enjoy :)

Because you asked so nicely and were not condescending in the slightest lol , I'll answer the best I can... "sorry what part of her second album is in aany way poppy?" The whole album's production was poppy compared to the vibe from the first album. Which is not a knock or even overly critical, just an observation. And while I may not have gravitated towards the vibe, I did like the songs. Maybe when the full album reaction is public, you can check out the reaction and see for yourself. It's not being shitty to say you don't like something as much as other people. "Grunge era? don't ypu know when grunge was? omg lol sinead invented Grunge " I lived grunge real time, I know all about it and last time I checked, Sinéad wasn't credited with inventing grunge (shoutout to Neil Young) although, she fit like a fucking glove. Dopes to infinity is seriously still one of my top three favorite albums of all time. I probably listen to it at least once a month still. I also practice the title song almost every day on guitar with loop pedal and vocals.

Thanks for this Smitty - it was such joy watching this all the way through with you. Great to be reminded what the greatest looks like. I'd suggest you do their album '10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1' the perfect point of them knowing how to use the studio and still experimenting so much and having the ferocity of the live act. Just an amazing album amongst so, so, so many of theirs.

Uriah Heep- one of the earliest bands I saw in 1971, along with Black Sabbath and Deep Purple etc. For probably their best song from this era try July Morning from the album Look At Yourself. Stealing was a big hit in the US for them. hammond organ was the other sound that you can hear.

I’m the one that suggested this awhile ago, thank you for reacting to it. I’m bummed you didn’t enjoy her 2nd album as much. Hopefully it will grow on you over time. I will give you a friendly heads-up: every single album of hers is completely different from the next. So, please don’t expect them to sound like Lion & the Cobra. :) But, I would recommend some other songs from her L&C era: Still Listening, Value of Ignorance… her cover of John Grant’s Queen of Denmark might be one you’ll like as well.

Hey man!! Sorry to post this on a non biffy related video! 😂 but Biffy just uploaded A celebration of endings live at the barrowland ballroom to their KZbin channel! It’s actually incredible! It was a show they did during COVID during lockdown. So no crowd and just ran the album start to finish. 🤌 and incredible stage production too! Hope to see it on your channel soon! Great song by Sinead - sad that it’s about her abusive mother. Just seen that you’re coming to ireland for a year. Excellent. If you’re planning to come to the north, i recommend a few tv series to watch which were all filmed in the north - but will also give you a glimpse of the people here. The Fall, Blue Lines and Derry Girls (which is a mad comedy but actually very true in terms of the way we speak and interact with each other. The Fall and Blue Lines are serious shows but both filmed in Belfast
