Could you talk MORE over the dialogue? More slow convos where it takes u ages to get a whole sentence out just to state the obvious while youre not hearing whole conversations that are relevant t o the plot - thats what we need more of in these reactions. 9:40-10:15 for example.

Hey guys, this is my first time checking out your reactions and I'm impressed. If you want to see another movie with Miles Teller, which is a GREAT movie, you gotta check out Only The Brave. Miles Teller and Josh Brolin do a great job in such a GREAT movie. I really believe you'll love that movie. This is one of those films that most reactors overlook and I'm not sure why. Please check it out and if you don't like this GREAT movie, I'll apologize for suggesting it, but I know yous will both love it. Thanks.

"There are no two words in the English language more harmful than: good job" I slightly disagree. I would add "unearned" in between "two words" in that sentence and that would be my philosophy. Fun Fact: The film was shot in 19 days. Awards And Accolades Fact: J.K. Simmons has won a total of 47 awards for his role as Fletcher. Drummer Boy Fact: Miles Teller, who has played the drums since he was 15, received blisters on his hands due to the vigorous, unconventional style of jazz drumming. Some of his blood was on the drumsticks and the drum set as a result. During the more intense practice scenes, the director wouldn't yell "cut!" so that Miles Teller would keep drumming until he exhausted himself. Landing Blows Fact: For the slapping scene, J.K. Simmons and Miles Teller filmed several takes with Simmons only miming the slap. For the final take, Simmons and Teller decided to film the scene with a real and genuine slap. This is the take that is in the film. J.K. Simmons suffered two cracked ribs when Miles Teller tackled him during the last two days of shooting. Simmons managed to continue working despite his injury.

1. Carpenter is a very left person politically. He saw the short story and turned it into this movie because it was his way of protesting Reaganomics. (Trickle down economics). He had watched Reagan fire all of the air traffic controllers to destroy their union, because they are federal employees, he had the power to do so. He helped the auto industry with destroying the unions in Detroit and Flint. Destroyed the tax code so the rich and powerful were not paying their fair share of the taxes. On top of Reagan commiting an act of Treason to get elected. Look into the Iran hostage situation to understand what was going on. But it boils down to Jimmy Carter trying to negotiate a release of a lot of Americans who were being held hostage by Iran. Reagan who was running against her m, went behind Carter and the US Government's back and talked the Iranians into not releasing the hostages until after he could take office, promising a better deal than Carter would. All of those things made Carpenter furious. So, he put his frustrations into the script. Knowing that if the film did well, it might wake people up to what was really going on. But, information moved slower in those days. So this movie caught on more after it's theatrical release than it did in the theaters. But the message is clear of this film. We all need to quit fighting over stupid shit, stop hating each other for our differences and work together. Only then will the rich and powerful finally be able to have their party ended because they can't divide us all up by race, religion, sexuality, gender, economic standards or physical and mental abilities or disabilities. Our differences need to be celebrated, something to bring us together to learn new things from each other. Art, culture, food, music, movies, books, games and education should bring us together, not tear us apart. Who one sleeps with, so long as it isn't breaking laws like rape, sexual assault, incest or child molestation, should be nobody else's business. Hating one another based on how much melanin is in our skin or not in our skin is stupid. The only people who deserve the hate, are the ones that divide us or who are outright monsters. That is my take on it.

The easiest way to explain it, is when we were watching it in the theater on opening night. We were laughing so hard & causing such a ruckus. The people watching the movie next door in the multiplex had to send somebody over to tell us quiet down. The theater quickly learned, play this movie at times when the screen next door is between showings... Because... OMG.

Pure Luck is dope. Merry Christmas!!!!! It was really Mel who developed the cop "on edge" character. However, this film really created the whole, making light of a dire situation by talking about mundane things. Shane Black and Mel Gibson really. And even more so in the subsequent films. The Marvel movies stole this dynamic starting with Avengers. They are always joking when the plane is on fire now. My brother and I always did the "Riggs roll" when we were playing with our toy guns.

How is someone Chinese-American? I'm seriously asking, not trying to be rude, it's just that I don't understand how they see things in the US. It's different in other countries. For example in my country, Argentina, if you were born in China you're Chinese, and if you were born in Argentina you're Argentine, and that's it. So how can someone be both Chinese and American? He can't be born in both places. I looked him up and he was born in California, so he is American, right? Why is he Chinese-American if he wasn't born in China? Thank you, I hope someone can answer this question.

That’s a great question. Yes, he is American. The unfortunate reality, in my opinion, is that it stems simply from a racist system. It really has no place other than describing someone’s appearance that isn’t white. I believe it is currently used to identify systemic racism when looking at ways that minority groups are being treated unfairly in housing, employment, policing, etc. as many applications will request that you identify your race or ethnicity. It begs the question, is a coordinated effort to eliminate racism actually making it worse? The coordinated effort has helped and still needs work, but will it become counterproductive at some point? I have never understood the opinion that having white skin is something to be proud of. It is usually the refuge of those that have nothing else to offer. That said, white privilege is real and so is racial inequality. The beauty of America in my eyes is that we are so diverse and have the ability to experience so many different cultures and have the ability to incorporate those in our own lives as we see fit. That’s just one man’s opinion that was lucky enough to be born in a particular place at a particular time in history. Thanks for the question, Beaver.

@@BluntReactionsBB One of my personal favorites is "Fandango" from the early-mid 80s with Kevin Costner (I'm not a fan of his, just a good flick). Lots of humor and some memorable scenes and serious shit to think about. To the benefits of youth! But geez, where to start 'cause I don't know what y'all have seen. If you have never seen it, I HIGHLY recommend "The BluesBrothers."

This movie is a documentary. One Gospel: Gospel (GOOD ANGEL) of Reconciliation. Jesus Christ came into THEIR kingdom to reconcile fallen angels unto Himself. We are the fallen angels (ELOHIM) kept in DNA chains of darkness. If you do not confess being a fallen angel in Lucifer's kingdom, then you are an unbeliever. Unbeliever = those that claim to be made in the image of ELOHIM(gods). REPENT FALLEN ANGELS.

"Ghost" (1990) was written by Bruce Joel Rubin, who wrote screenplays dealing with death and the afterlife. This was the first film Jerry Zucker directed all on his own and the first dramatic film he ever directed, being better known for goofy comedic films like "Airplane!" and "Top Secret!". It's best to understand that a film follows the vision of its director more than anything else; change the director and you change the vision, resulting in a very different film. For comparison, have a look at another film released in 1990 based on a Bruce Joel Rubin script: "Jacob's Ladder", directed by Adrian Lyne, who works in very dark and complicated human motives and emotions. Lyne is known for "9-1/2 Weeks", "Flashdance", "Fatal Attraction", and "Lolita". Whoppi Goldberg's only Oscar was won for her supporting role in "Ghost". She was nominated for her starring role in "The Color Purple" but did not win. Demi Moore did another 'metaphysical' film: 1991's "The Butcher's Wife", with co-star Jeff Daniels; worthwhile reacting to. You'd probably like her more in "G.I. Jane" (1997); definitely not your usual 'chick flick'.

It's a remake of 1943's "A Guy Named Joe", starring Spencer Tracy. "Always" is also updated to be less sexist; the girl takes on the hero role that in the original was played by the new love interest. Sometimes it's interesting to compare different versions made for different generations (and their cultures). For instance: "Here Comes Mr Jordan" (1941), starring Robert Montgomery as a prize fighter accidently taken before his time "Heaven Can Wait" (1978), starring Warren Beatty as an LA Rams quarterback taken before his time "Down to Earth" (2001), starring Chris Rock as a comedian taken before his time
