The creator of Mortal Kombat was actually fan of this movie it inspired him to come up with the Raiden character.

Great choice! One of two great 1986 Chinese comedies along with The Golden Child with Eddie Murphy. They share a lot of the same Chinese actors.

I love the scene were Gracie grabs wang in the tunnel and ask where’s Margo, then the next person she grabs is Margo and asks where’s Eddie then the next person she grabs is Eddie and then she asks where’s Jack, then Jack pops up.

Fun fact, this was originally supposed to be Buckaroo Banzai's sequel, but the production studio changed everything and we ended up with this cult classic.

A couple early era Carpenter recommendations. 'The Fog' (1980) and 'Christine' (1983, directed by Carpenter and based on a Stephen King book).

But have you seen "Dark Star"? If you like this, you'll like "Buckaroo Banzai", too!

How is someone Chinese-American? I'm seriously asking, not trying to be rude, it's just that I don't understand how they see things in the US. It's different in other countries. For example in my country, Argentina, if you were born in China you're Chinese, and if you were born in Argentina you're Argentine, and that's it. So how can someone be both Chinese and American? He can't be born in both places. I looked him up and he was born in California, so he is American, right? Why is he Chinese-American if he wasn't born in China? Thank you, I hope someone can answer this question.

That’s a great question. Yes, he is American. The unfortunate reality, in my opinion, is that it stems simply from a racist system. It really has no place other than describing someone’s appearance that isn’t white. I believe it is currently used to identify systemic racism when looking at ways that minority groups are being treated unfairly in housing, employment, policing, etc. as many applications will request that you identify your race or ethnicity. It begs the question, is a coordinated effort to eliminate racism actually making it worse? The coordinated effort has helped and still needs work, but will it become counterproductive at some point? I have never understood the opinion that having white skin is something to be proud of. It is usually the refuge of those that have nothing else to offer. That said, white privilege is real and so is racial inequality. The beauty of America in my eyes is that we are so diverse and have the ability to experience so many different cultures and have the ability to incorporate those in our own lives as we see fit. That’s just one man’s opinion that was lucky enough to be born in a particular place at a particular time in history. Thanks for the question, Beaver.
