I think people just don’t like the expanded parkour options sometimes making it easy to escape either wise troublesome situations. The games not bad at all but one thing I’d like to see is like a little asylum area with a darker atmosphere that could have different anomaly’s each time you make it to end.

Unlike cyberpunk, this game doesn't have a good story to begin with, so no matter how much they fix the gameplay, the game will never reach its full potential
@euuIgorКүн бұрын
The story in the first game wasn't that great, but it still managed to be much more memorable than the second, which is funny because they tried sooo hard to make it better in the second, only to mess it up completely

I liked it, but I also didn't buy it at launch. I usually don't buy games at launch, every game needs updates. The story is not as interesting as the original, but the overall game itself is a lot of fun, and I enjoyed it a lot. That being said, a lot of the criticism is valid. The game had some pretty glaring technical issues at launch, and critiquing that is totally valid. Even after the fixes, the plot does feel a little weak, its just not as impactful as the original.

I ended up disliking Dying Light 2 because it basically disappointed me in EVERY SINGLE way possible except the parkour. The story was ass. The characters annoying. The writing was cringier. The open world was more useless and boring. The activities were clumsy. The missions were badly paced. The night time was shit. The daytime was shit. The quests were boring. The new tools and moves barely felt live-changing. The combat felt shit. The zombies posed no threat. Fighting humans was shit. The choices were practically a scam. The ending was utter dogshit. The grind was even worse. And the music sucks. I HATE the main theme. It's too chirpy and the leit-motif riff sounds like crap.

Cool game had a lot of potential. Too bad the parkour mechanics are shit and there’s no way to change the terrible control scheme. The guns are shit. Almost every character is a dumb ass. The environment design is so immersion breaking at times it’s like someone who’s never been outside created the world. Main character kept having boring unskipable flashback sequences. And more than anything it jus doesn’t capture the same gritty scary vibe the first dying light had. The series is such a shadow of its former self. Such a shame they coulda built up an amazing sequel off the back of dying light OG with today’s technology. Fkn techland completely shit the bed

From what ive played so far, i believe the D1 volatiles are more deadly than d2. You just outrun them most of the time, meanwhile D1 catch up, slash you and pounce . They seem way formidable and i never found myself ever dying to them in D2.. i never even heal in D2 ever because normal mode is still so easy.

Dying Light 2 was the first game I pre-ordered. I wasn't disappointed at all because I am very easily impressed. I loved the first game, I loved the second game almost the same amount. I give the first game an 8/10 without the Following dlc and a 10/10 with the Following dlc. The second game I give a solid 7/10 without any story based dlc. I don't own any dlc aside from cosmetic stuff, so I don't have an opinion on the dlc.

I love both. Have 500+ hours on the second, and about 160 on the first. I loved the atmosphere, physics and sunsets in the first but everything felt super clunky and there was no block button and lackluster parkour. The second feels much better for me with customization, blocking, parkour and combat. The hate used to be deserved but now it’s just a running bad joke. Both games are great and both are better than the other in specific areas, but you’re right this was a good sequel because it expanded on most elements in the first like sequels should do. They messed up by folding and adding guns instead of makeshift weapons. They should have stuck to their vision cuz people still complain anyway. I never thought it was a terrible game. I bought it after a year and gave it a 7. Now it’s a solid 8.5. I still give the first a 9.

Let’s be real. DL2 is an improvement across the board. Now I’ll admit, crap like the sun not actually setting and other small over looked details that generally the player won’t notice, does still occur. Every core aspect of the game is an improvement through. Replay value of the story for different endings. An extreme upstage in combat and parkour along a few other additions. Graphics are a major bump. Combat is amazing. The largest cast of different enemies to fight. The scare factor of the night is increased especially after all the increased updates to chases. People who say it doesn’t have that mission where the scare is so rememberable, they obviously skip the hospital mission.

@calebb70128 күн бұрын
They ruined most of the mechanics. No skeleton system, barely any ambient noise, hell even night time is safer in the second game; 0 to little tension unlike the 1st. You've done a terrible job of convincing anyone here to give this a try or another in my case.
@Hewasnumber15 күн бұрын
Night time is way more dangerous in Dying Light 2 than in 1. You have to try really hard to avoid volatile lines of sight, and you still get into plenty of chases. In Dying Light 1 you’re able to break a chase in forty seconds, but in Dying Light 2 after the updates I’m scrambling up and down to try to break line of sight and get some distance. I even started ducking into bushes in an attempt to hide from the zombies, and it only works about half of the time. Night time in Dying Light 2 is way more intense than 1’s ever was now, you should try playing the game from the beginning again.
@Hikaeme-od3zq4 күн бұрын
@@Hewasnumber1 It's more dangerous (is it even?) for the wrong reasons tho: Since the game suffers from a CLEAR lack of direction, and it can be seen from the fact that they absolutely butchered the ambience and mood of the game, the nights are more "dangerous" only to compensate from the lack of actual good buildup. The nights in DL1 are just well made and are incorporated in this survival horror, open world, sandbox game that DL1 was. I can't help but feel as though if they actually nailed the ambience and mood of the game, the nights would've been REALLY better in DL2.

I was looking forward to this game more than just about any other game that I can remember. When it came out I just felt betrayed....no other way to say it! They took my gritty zombie game, made it arcadey. With health bars above zombies and an agregious over the top UI. Doubled down on the Human combat. Which was the worst part of DL1 in my opinion. I loved the part in DL1 where u constantly felt like zombies were sneaking up on you from behind when u were in the city streets. Added real tension. I can't even bring myself to play this new entry. Have tried and just quit out. Still hurts to this day this betrayal if Im honest? Anyone else feel this way?
@deuchebaggins866010 күн бұрын
I still play Dying Light 1. It's an excellent game, but has some jank and a few bad design decisions. The Mad Max wasteland setting turned me off to Dying Light 2, and I think they squandered an opportunity to to turn this into a major series. Think about if they would've shown the virus escaping and infecting different countries, they could've set the game anywhere they wanted for as many sequels as they wanted to make.
@corvusgaming237910 күн бұрын
I've beaten both games, and I love both games. But it all boils down to something that was pretty much discussed already: DL1 has the better story, but DL2 has the fluid parkour.
@calebb70128 күн бұрын
Nothing to run from in DL2. It's laughable there's better enemies in the 1st game.
@Hewasnumber15 күн бұрын
Dying Light 2 has the better story for me. Crane is the only thing making the story even slightly tolerable; and it’s not from a high investment into Crane’s struggles and goals, no, it’s because he makes the awful story funny. Whereas Dying Light 2, for all its story faults, at least gave me a really good time with roleplaying. I think people have a more negative opinion of the game’s story when they try to do the "right" thing all the time. Being a goody-two-shoes is just boring and keeps the story shallow. I played the game making Aiden prioritize his quest to find Mia above all else (with a few exceptions at the end of the game). Playing the game with a morally grey Aiden who tries to navigate a treacherous political scene to get what he wanted, but still trying to do the right thing when possible made the game way more interesting.
@corvusgaming23795 күн бұрын
@@Hewasnumber1 The difference in protagonists make quite the difference, as Aiden is a survivor, Crane isn’t. He’s an agent that becomes a survivor. He’s purely trying to help the original survivors, while Aiden has his own goals, but, of course, each to their own.
