Another anti-Soviet bastard with a Russian accent is trying to slander the USSR. I immediately put a dislike! And when planes crash in the West, are capitalist holidays to blame - for example, Bastille Day? Dislike!

This would have been a great aircraft to conduct clandestine aerial reconnaissance over the US. Painted in US colours and with a radio officer skilled in English, could have inserted itself into US airspace pretending to be an actual B29

The mental image of a weeping soviet wife writing to Artiom to please stop putting alcohol in the fucking fighter jets because her husband comes home wasted on base and has filled the bathtub with alcohol is fucking killing me

I heard that one reason the me 262 jet plane never became a factor in the war was that hitler really liked dive bombers and wanted the me 262 made into one. Imagine judging the pull up point while aimed at the ground at over 600 mph.

I think what amazes me is that so many people here in the United States don't believe it was actually that bad in the USSR. I took a class going over the history of Russia in college and it thoroughly convinced me that the Soviets were at least as evil as the Nazis if not worse. Now, it didn't go over details like the labor law that imprisoned people for being late for work. Otherwise I would've probably considered them far more evil.

The A-10 started with a gun and resulted in a plane. The MiG-27 started with a plane and resulted in a suicidal plane with a gun.

I mean both regimes had a systemic design of torture based on ethnicity and paper thin accusations or true accusations in some cases of descent. I don’t know if Russia had a policy of oofing disabled people and veterans. The Russians definitely take the cake in the numbers though but they had decades more to rack up those numbers. More evil I just don’t think that that concept can truly be explained as well it shouldn’t matter. But the statement of questioning if they were the lesser of the two evils is a valid one and the answer is completely relative.

It is still very difficult for ethnic Russians to enter the United States. And when you listen to a touching story about how bad life was for immigrants from the USSR, you are listening to the story of those who are not usually spoken of badly. And this is a fact. Refugees from the USSR are 99.9% of those who are not usually spoken of badly. There is no reason to blame them for wanting to leave Russia. I understand everything, for them the Russian language, culture, customs - everything is alien, but... I want to draw your attention to something else. For the sake of a residence permit in the USA, they are ready to tell you anything. To confirm what you yourself expect to hear from a refugee from the USSR. For those about whom it is forbidden to speak badly, speaking badly about the USSR or Russia is a kind of ritual of initiation into citizenship of the USA or Europe.

"In the USSR you couldnt just change your job because you didnt like it or move to a different city. And despite proclaiming a society of equality you couldnt do much unless you were born wealthy" Cant believe capitalist greed has now brought western society down to the same level as communist shitholes were half a century ago...

As far as I remember US atomic bomb was designed and developed by scientists brought to US from Europe. Apollo program and rocket was designed by German Werner Fon Brown etc. Russians have more than 100 years of experience in aeronautics, they designed the first space rocket, Gagarin was the first man in the space, Leonov was the first man who exist the space ship in the space. Russians send the first satellite to the Moon and the Venus.

This reminds me of a book I read many years ago that was about a squadron of fighter planes from WWI in England. The lubricant for the engines was apparently made from castor oil (yes, the same oil they give people to help them move their bowels). The spray of the oil coming from the running engine would eventually cause the pilots to experience...abdominal distress. So, many pilots carried liquor along with them while they flew in an effort to lessen the laxative effect of the engine lubricant.

“Remember: everything that doesn’t praise the f*ck out of Russia, russians, Putin, the USSR and Stalin is Ukrainian propaganda! If you think otherwise, you’re a Nazi! Wait, what do you mean, Putin justified Hitler and blamed Poland for the WWII? Nah, it must be an AI-generated fake made by Ukrainian Nazis like yourself to frame our innocent God-Emperor!!!” It’s literally impossible to communicate with the victims of the russian propaganda. They are ultimate hypocrites with an absolute lack of self-awareness and common sense. If there was a world championship in mental gymnastics, Russia would’ve won the gold medal, and it wouldn’t even be close.
