They should do an episode where Jeff gets to meet all the previous home owners who do shoddy work for him to clean up. He’s boiling inside, he’d love to chew them out and maybe give a slap in some instances. Freaking doorbell cover. Smh

That's a neat trick. I'll remember this for the next time my wife needs something installed or fixed around the house. This is something I wish I knew last month when installing shelves in the basement.

What about just putting some of this on an already existing cement blocks, then plastered walls? Just like half of it? I can't take my whole wall down (I only own one side of it as well)

Any relation to a Mark Thorman from Mi? Growing up, my next door neighbors/best friends were all Thorman's. Anyways, I love your videos because I've been able to do so much with little experience. You're the man!

Nice learning curb for me. Perhaps you may want to water the first half of the pour immediately after placing the steel mesh. Allow sufficient water to harden the first half and immediately pour the remaining concrete. And water.

Why do you have to keep it in reverse? If all you're doing is tilting it down and then ramming it in. I understand you. Reverse it to make a good hole for a guide hole, but why keep it in reverse? You could just from there. Reverse, slap in the f****** forward. Angle down qing ching

my last house, I was about to attempt extending patio roof. I wanted it to match roof slope. Used no Math or anything. my idea, I took short 12" piece of 2x4. held it vertical to roofs edge. put a dot on right edge, on low end. Put dot on left edge high side. Drew line conncting dots. [ \ ] cut the angle. flipped board over on 2 "planes"-🔄🔃. it created roofs pitch😁😁

After you square the framing the first time, screw a 2x4 temporary brace a few feet long at 45 degrees at each corner. That way, you don't have to keep resquaring your work. They also make it easier to lift the whole assembly.

I never stain in direct sunlight because the stain dries so fast, and I won’t stain, if the temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius. Keep in mind, once you stain, you will be staining on a regular basis. I really think, if you care about your deck’s appearance, consider synthetic decking. Nice way to apply your stain, Jeff. Wish you well Sir. 🇨🇦💝🙏👍

Electrical work( other than class 2 or telecom wire) should be routed further away from where someone could nail or screw and I’m sorry strapping is not going to stop your floor from cracking. With engineered floor joists and I joists you DON’T need to strap anything. Most the time, this is just a scam that Canadian contractors use to keep their apprentices busy and charge their clients for menial useless work. Elsewhere (other than Canada) nobody straps their ceilings. Strapping is scamming.

Something I was taught for screws is to drill a relief hole first that is a little bit smaller than the nail or screw you want to use. This will prevent splitting!

I’m a QEP fan of their non powered tile setting supplies only. I recently completed a stacked ledger stone backsplash, a Ridgid 6.5Amp 7” table top wet saw & Dewalt diamond blade cut through the stone like butter.

As someone who has not much experience with painting, can you explain the sanding process, I understand why you would sand, but surely you couldn't paint right over it, the wall would be "dusty" causing the new coat to flake?

The sad part is that consumers DON"T NEED a waterproof floor!!! Manufacturers created a solution to a problem that DOESN'T exist!!!! Also, NO PLASTIC floor adds ANY VALUE to your home... hardwood floors give 128% ROI... LVP, WPC etc. adds NOTHING..... This is NOT a FOREVER floor.... Hardwood is the second oldest floor IN THE WORLD... ONLY DIRT is older.... YOu are correct... you pay for what you get... you buy junk you ROI is junk...... Too bad you made all the right points that would sway ANY savvy consumer to hardwood..... think people think!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monsieur Jeff, if you ever get asked to build a gabled awning over a front door with wooden brackets instead of beams, and you wonder if anyone would appreciate a video of you building it, know that there is one person who would appreciate it (and that person is me... I would like to see a video of you building an awning... I'm shamelessly trying to coax you into making that video).

I do maintenance on my apt complex and l replaced a lot of toilets and they all went smooth without all these precautionary steps. The most important thing not to do it is to over tighten your toilet bolts because you can easily damage your flange. I like to use thinset over tile under the toilet for better and strong adhesion.
