Eat Em and Smile is the ONLY great album released from DLR solo years. But, 5150 is a great album that started the Van Halen 2.0. And proof Van Halen did not need DLR.

I have had back surgery twice and I know what kind of pain he is talking about. The older you are, the more difficult it is to cure and cope. I hope he fully recovers, but he should know that he will no longer be able to lead a life as "normal" as before.

Thanks for mentioning Frank Marino. Trower was not as hot then but Frank, Frank killed audiences and toured himself to death and then got out before 84 was over. Not too different than Uli. He came thru Chicago 3 X's on the Juggernaut LP and on the last show he did Van Halen, Santana and of course Hendrix. It was so amazing but it was like, "Ain't his good enough?!? Uli came the next year and then poof! For 19 years.

I stated that Uli's return to America and Michale Schencker's 2004 band closed the show. Well, I was already vey disabled then. And I wrote Uli that I needed to have a seat. He played House of Blues the next night and I lived in the Chicago area. But a buddy and I saw frank Marino in 2000 and there were no damn seats, even though we got there 2 hours early they were all reserved. People were cool, but it sucked. I wrote Uli who was in England then and bought his Donnington and Historic Performance DVD's which he both signed in Gold ink.I literally called England and when I got to Shank Hall in Milwaukee with my CANE I was like, Oh no not again. But the security guard said, "Windrose?" Yeah." I replied and he showed me to a 1 seat table in the back where I got up and down from all night. When Schenker's set finished I sat there all electrified. Oh man, people iined up at this table for Michael, I think his daughter was there and then and then, Uli walks through the front door of the club and stood in the middle of the floor. I was blown away. But then there are a dozen guys in line to talk with him. After a couple I got up with my cane and walked over and tapped him on the shoulder and said, "Hi Uli, it's Windrose." I had sent a poem into his old web site and he said, "Oh you wrote Quartz." Yeah. We talked for a few minutes. I kissed hm on the cheek and said, "Man, your music lifted me up and rocked my world through the highs and lows." Or something like that. 1 other thing. Now he says he plays some bits without a safety net. After 19 years he played Vivaldi's note for note. And Hendrix too. He made it better, added riffs, but was 100% accurate. It was mind blowing. I respect what he has done since but at that time he was on his own. No band 2 guys and some pre-recorded stuff and it was just him and his Sky guitar nailing it and grown men. I'm talking about leather and denim dudes with their chain wallets had TEARS go out the side of their EYES. We were all moved so much. And Schenker was pretty damn good too. Lol. God bless Uli Jon Roth.

I saw him in 1985 and on his first trip back to America in 19 years in 2004. Amazing. Michael Schenker closed the 2004 show. My last.

Matthiaas Michael, Uli...I think there was some radioactive material leftover in the water because those guys are amazing and few up within 30 miles from each other and months apart. Amazing.

Van Halen III is the worst sounding recording VH ever made. That blame goes to Eddie and Mike Post here who is not a rock producer to begin with

Hang on to your dream, Burton, you know it's true, With every "American Woman," we're standing here with you. In the face of impostors, hold your head high, Your "No Sugar Tonight" spirit will never die. Chorus: These eyes have seen your glory, And they'll see you through the storm. In the heart of this true story, You'll find where you belong. Verse 2: They're playing games, but we see through the lies, You're the heart of "No Time," the truth in disguise. "These Eyes" remember every soulful song, Your legacy is strong, it won't be long. Chorus: These eyes have seen your glory, And they'll see you through the storm. In the heart of this true story, You'll find where you belong. Bridge: "Share the Land" with those who honor your name, Let the fake ones know they can't claim your fame. With every note, with every line, Your voice, Burton, will always shine. Chorus: These eyes have seen your glory, And they'll see you through the storm. In the heart of this true story, You'll find where you belong. Outro: So, keep on rockin', never let it be, Your spirit and music are the legacy we see. In every "Laughing," in every tear, Burton, your true fans are always here.

The unforeseen is scary. Hopefully, AI will help humans and not hurt them. People will always crave human emotion especially in music. I personally will not spend one dime on an AI song! However, the younger people might become accustomed to it. Time will tell how this all goes down!
