I do own one XJ with vm diesel engine. I do use it for what it is ment to be, nature, solo camping. I do love its 300 Newtometers of torque, 30" tires A/Ts. 2" lift. I knew what I get, and I never sale it. For theater I do take my Jaguar limo, never the Jeep. And one thing, I don't drive it faster than 100km/h, even on the high way. Feels really good cruzin' at that speed. 🙂

The 1980 GLi/Gti/Storm Scirocco comes with the 5 speed 1.6 injection engine with 110bhp. (same engine as the Mk1 Golf Gti.) The Storm even with 2 mirrors!

I recently bought (April 2024 for £500) a 2003 Astra Club 1.6L engine from a local mechanic who done a snapped timing belt (probably due to age rather than mileage at 52800 miles) on it. I have one rusted rear wheel arch as described in this video - I am thinking of buying fenders for the arches from Ebay?. It is quite the allrounder and suits my every day low mileage needs. I am enjoying exploring the local area (North Wales) with it. Very Happy. My previous car was 2006 Meriva 1.7 diesal - JUNK! I got rid of it after 6 months to the scrap man.

I have a similar mode, 2007 Limited with 5.7 & Quadradrive II. Excellent vehicle, best 4x4 system you can get. BTW In the USA you could get the Merc CRD, not that many sold, but they were here. Sadly no more 4.0 liter straight 6. That ended in 2006 with the last of the TJ Wrangler series.

I noticed you say the VW was SORN when it became Historic without any trouble?, can I ask of it had insurance at the time?. It is just that I found the old V5C for my old bike and got the address updated to my current one, now with the new V5C it is declared SORN and want to make it Historic (44 years old this year). Can it be done at a Post Office without Insurance?, since it is cheaper to insure as a Historic Vehicle. If not it is a bit of a Catch 22 situation.

I'm glad you posted this video, I've got the same trouble as you had with my 1984 GMC C1500. I imported the truck, I registered it with DVLA back in October 2018, with a first registered date of 1.1.1984. Up until a year ago I noticed my date of registration had been switched from 1.1.1984 to 31.12.1984 on the MOT Gov website, but the vehicle tax Gov website had stayed at 1.1.1984. Few days back I go into the post office to get it tax in Historic the whole nonsense that you had with your Corvette is now happening to me. DVSA sorted out my MOT issue date no problem in 24 hrs. DVLA not so To keep it short they have been switching imported registration vehicle dates to the end of the year. I know of 3 other people that this has happened to. They kept telling me it had always been the 31.12.1984. If that was the case I would have been issued a B reg plate , not the A reg plate i have been issued. Plus I have he V5 that proves they altered it. I've sent documents today to the DVLA to hopefully correct this ,🤞🤞🤞

I have just bought a Vauxhall astra g mk4 because I hate modern day cars full of nasty electronics. This astra drives extremely well though the roof lining is missing & needs replacement but it was cheap to buy & as i said it drives extremely well & is reliable which is an importance to me & is easy to work on & repair unlike modern vile cars.

I have the same 2008 Jeep with diesel and you sir don't know what your talking about. I take my wife into the bush in northern Canada and then wash it and daily drive it. It is extremally reliable and more loaded than an Acura MDX and the body is rust free 2023 and no plans to replace it.

I, too, was working on my vettes. Replaced the motor in the 86 and finished up the front suspension on the 81.

but surly you can dim the clocks and info system down, also the wiper blades are set up for left hand drive so i'e France you are sat on the other side and have clear view]

I’ve got a mk4 Astra, three door on a y plate 1.8 sri I have had the car over 10 years. Been off the road for five. Just getting it back on the road now within the next week. Fingers crossed

I need to do this, not for a historic vehicle, but for a showman's vehicle, i have just become a showman this year, and i know you can mot exempt and tax exempt showman's vehicles in certain circumstances, which mine fulfills I have a mk5 ford transit chassis cab, with the tipper bed removed, and a large generator set welded directly to the chassis 👍

Iv tried this stuff and I. Hit a really good snow foam gun and Iv pre washed it and applied it again and rubbed it all over and it’s not the greatest of stuff I have no idea what cleaning chemicals they have put in it but a cheap wash and wax is better this snow foam is pretty rubbish to be fair

Hi there, you might have had better results if you'd set a wider spray pattern and/or turned the control up to max. NO snow foam is touchless, but Bilt hamber is the closest .
