Beautiful and moving. How the world sorely needs the June and Roy Barkers of this world. Those with a never fading mission to improve the lot of the dispossessed peoples of the world. They are missed. Thanks for posting.

I met Roy and June in Lightning Ridge back in 1985 and was moved by their hospitality and their stories; awed by their craft and inspired by their mission. Thanks for posting this moving tribute.

Well....there you have it NSWALC.....it was the sediment that dated back 40,000 years and not the artifacts. Read the book just released, 'Van Diemen's Land - An Aboriginal History' by authors Dr. Ian McFarlane and Murray Johnson. If you don't know who they are, just Google them.

for anyone who was a reader of tracker magazine both in print and online and like me was depressed when it closed down. please do the following, the two journalists Chris Graham and Amy McQuire have been doing splendid journalism at this independent online newsite called New Mathilda. and could use people donating to help continue their work and help with legal fees as they are muckrakers who upset the status quo in Australia newmatilda.com/2015/02/08/open-letter-ed-were-back-court-and-we-really-need-your-help and don't forget also help the dumbartung aboriginal corporation which is under threat of closing down. the petition is closed but you can still take direct agaion e-mail or call the Indigenous Land Corporation by phone and e-mail to plead with them to conserve Dumbartung not force it to close. [email protected] ILC Public Affairs Branch - 08 8100 7100 and Free Call: 1800 818 490 and those who live in Australia should stage protests and demand the Kyana Gallery be conserved

g'dat mate im related to Evelyn Greenup on her fathers side. Although i wasn't actually born at the time of the murders, my still to this day are very torn apart by this event. I would just like to say a big thank you, for what your doing. Hopefully with some more coverage about the story, We can finally put whoever done this away. I believe you might have met my mother as well (Diane Greenup) who works at the Nambucca Heads L.A.L.C. as the receptionist

Thank you for posting this. I will be using this in my tutorial classes tomorrow. It is wonderful to the voices of Aboriginal people speaking strongly and passionately for the country we love and want to protect.

@Rokket : Sorry bud, but as expected you're dead wrong. It IS the oldest recognised site of human habitation in the southern Hemisphere - read the reports and see it for yourself. And as the bridge going over the top... well if that's your logic then you'd have no objection to a four lane freeway going through Port Arthur right? That wouldn't disturb any part of the site would it? I might hire a bobcat and get to work right now.

It is as I would see important to recognise that with any Story there is 2 sides and people cannot know about one side without truly living the experience. But the closest that we can expect to get a understanding of a story that we have not lived is to sit down and discuss issues from a perspective of equal partners in the issue to be discussed. And this has never been completed for the First Peoples of the Nations of Australia. (Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander peoples.)

Hi Bev Thanks for taking the time to show the truth about our people as you say this is 2010 and nothing has change for some of us. Like you I was able to pull myself up out of a very poor life stlye through the opportunities that some of my elders fort for that enablied me to get an education and now I work hard to give back to our communities but funding is very tight...........................

I often wonder if those rich miners assist in giving NON mining jobs to the locals. To me mining is like sticking daggers in your chest . Surely with so much attention being given to the plight of the planet we can invest in the original people ?

looking forward to the full vid. complete genocide in at least one of our states and damn close in a few others wasn't enough. We are still treating these people... the ONLY real Aussies... with far less respect/compassion/humanity than we do our prisoners!
