I really enjoyed it, including the reveal. I am just really hoping the Finale pulls everything together well. I am not so sure Mrs Flood is a villain despite her ominous wording to Cherry Sunday. Possibly in the future but for now no. Then again I have been wrong throughout so far so 😕. Hope you enjoy your experience at the cinema 😊

I never had the privilege of meeting William Russell (nor anyone from Doctor Who) sadly. I am 56 this year and so many people I grew up with are gone now sadly. I will admit to having a small crush on William when I finally watched the episodes with him in 😳 Can't pick a favourite moment with him though just too many 😂

Didn't Richard E Grant play the Great Intelligence in Doctor Who? He stepped into the Doctors timeline followed by Clara? Possibly that's a clue or it might not be 🤷 I am not a bridgerton or similar kind of person so it didn't appeal to me in that way. For me personally I felt meh about it. The whole thing just felt off and I can't really explain why. I didn't see anything that could possibly have changed the Doctors life as touted. For me it is an episode I will rewatch to see what I may have missed as I did watch it at midnight totally shattered but unless the rewatch changes my mind it will be skipped in any other rewatch binges. 4-5/10 for me

Thank you for your comment. Sorry for the late reply. Possible this could be a so-so episode for a lot of Whovians. Yes, you were right about Richard E Grant being the Great Intelligence. It could be linked? Never say never. I'm guessing RTD was aiming for The Shalka Doctor. Although Richard E Grant also appeared as the Doctor in a Comic Relief Special called The Curse Of Fatal Death with Rowan Atkinson and Hugh Grant. If you haven't seen it already. It's worth checking out. It's easy to find on KZbin, plus my review of that special is on this channel 😊👍

I wouldn't mind either if it's done well, and I know it has potential to be done well. John Barrowman was a perfect Jack. It's gonna be tough to follow, but the doctor has been played well by many actors, so Jack can be too. I think it would be great representation and true to Gatwa if it is a male love interest, but aside from Rose, I didn't really care for any of the romance storylines/ episodes with the doctor. The Torchwood romances though...❤️‍🔥!

To be honest I hope for neither I really can't imagine anyone but John Barrowman as Jack also Jack couldn't regenerate he was just immortal so how are they going to explain the face change. While I am ok with flirting not really a fan of romance with the Doctor although the fact it would be a male makes me rethink that just for the Woke brigade going mental 😂 I should add the Doctor could have a romance with a cactus alien or a slitheen or sontaron and I wouldn't be a fan of it either.

Dot and Bubble was an episode which, based on the trailers, I wasn't particularly looking forward too. How wrong I was. This episode sucked you in and then delivered a couple of gut punches punctuated by Murray Golds exquisite soundtrack. Full credit has to go to Callie Cooke for the way she played Lindy. Maybe I'm strange but once again a Doctor light (although not as light as 73 yards) episode really shines out. On the Susan Twist front I liked RTDs use of puns for her appearance this week. As she appeared on screen as Lindys mother the "Penny" literally dropped for the Doctor & Ruby as they recognised her.

When I watched this episode I absolutely loved it (in fairness I still do) however after watching reviews I am having to rethink who I thought I was as a person because of something I missed and should not have. Info on me I left all forms of social media except for KZbin in 2020 (had been going on less and less since Brexit). I hated the toxicity of it, the racism, bigotry, abilism etc etc. it affected my mental health because it was making me so angry and sad. I have tried to bring my 3 kids up to not judge, to see that race, religion, sexualities etc are not important only who they are as a person their heart so to speak. Kindness being something they needed to look for as I tried to be. However I didn't see the racism until it was pointed out and then it was so obvious I was ashamed I hadn't seen that part. I saw the rest just not that 😢 I mentioned it to my partner who said it was because I never do see the colour of someone's skin only their character but I just don't feel that is a good enough reason to not see it. I also need to stop theorising on things to because if I can't see something as obvious as that I definitely will be missing other clues so no more theories from me. I have upped my initial 7.5-8/10 to an 8.5-9/10 because it has made me have to re-evaluate myself and that definitely gives it an extra point.

Genuine question. If you watched a show set in Africa, and you didn’t think it was weird that the cast was all African, or watched a show set in korea, and didn’t think to weird that the cast was all Korean, or a show set in Brazil and didn’t think it weird that all the cast was Brazilian, why is it weird or racist to have a cast that is all white? There are places in the world (Iceland for example) that have 90% of their population as white, which means if your doing a show based in Iceland it would not be wrong or unusual to have an all white cast. Having a white cast is not inherently racist. So not noticing the cast was all white does not mean you are somehow “wrong” and “racist”. A normal person would just assume that the area being portrayed as a certain genome shared, like if you see a show set in China, it would be weird if the cast wasn’t nearly 100% Chinese. Not everywhere can be this huge melting pot of all different genomes if the human race, and it’s okay to showcase groups that share similar genome types.
@polgarauk5606
@polgarauk5606 12 күн бұрын
@@Intotheabyss1988 where the population is as you suggested a majority POC or white then no it wouldn't be unusual or racist. However the UK is a blend of many different cultures and races so an all white cast is something that should be noticeable. Is it inherently racist no not necessarily it depends on the storyline and the setting. This could just have been about very rich kids and they happen to all be white. The problem isn't so much the all white cast it's the micro aggression shown in the way Lindy spoke to the Doctor that I should have spotted. So I guess in answer to your question no it is not necessarily racism when the cast is all one particular ethnic group however that really didn't apply in this case ifygwim

Rose. She would have found the doctor in the Fae realm. I do think the Mad Jack thing is gonna be similar to Bad Wolf. Or Donna. I can see her hot temper, yelling at the woman, lol. But also, I think it could be funny having her signal to herself because her miming in Adipose was hysterical 😂 🤣 If it was Amy, I'd have a hard time thinking anything would scare Rory away, at least without an explanation. I watched this one at Midnight but with the light on thankfully 😂 I was gripped from start to finish, I didn't notice the lack of a title sequence and I didn't miss the Doctor. Saying that I wouldn't rate it as a top episode as a lot of people are. My personal take on it is - When the Doctor steps on and breaks the Fairy ring his punishment by the Fae was to disappear, Ruby then read the scroll's that sealed her fate as she was the final thing that released Mad Jack from the spell. Her Punishment was to live the rest of her life suffering her worst fear of Abandonment. Except for the (What I believe was a Fae ensuring she did her task of stopping Mad Jack in this timeline) woman always standing 73 yards away. Ruby did have the task of stopping Mad Jack BUT it was never going to end her punishment only her death could do that. I have no idea what the Fae showed people about Ruby that made them scream and run not really sure I want to know. Kate explained the 73 yards distance as being the distance a person (with normal eyesight) could see until their vision blurred. Ruby actually became stronger due to the constant abandonment and was then able to deal with Mad Jack much better. She in the process of being abandoned when people see/speak to the woman see's how to get Rid of Mad Jack. The deathbed scene is the Fae giving her her reward almost for stopping Mad Jack and also allowing her to stop it altogether by taking her back to the moment they arrived to stop the Doctor breaking the Fairy circle. When she does the timeline reverts back to the original. We don't know if this was the first time in this time loop it could have been going on for awhile and she just didn't succeed in those ones. It did take me awhile after the episode to come to the above conclusion to be honest. After the episode I was a tad confused as well. As I say this is just my theory and I am not great at them so take it with a pinch of salt. I will add that 2 things changed from their original arrival in Wales 1) Ruby said she had been to Wales 2 times but that changed to 3 and 2) the Doctor said Roger AP Williams broght the country to the brink of nuclear war the first time the second time he just said he was a terrible Prime Minister. I have seen a lot of people mention the Clyde Langer episode also Turn Left and Midnight in relation to this episode. I love Turn Left but I don't like Midnight so my view would be it's not as good as Turn Left in my eyes and not as bad as Midnight so a 7.5-8/10 for me

I was getting Quantum Leap vibes when she got the PM to quit, and then was thinking it was all going to end from that 1 deed. I was just waiting for the doctor to somehow show up or send a message through time and space. But I think the PM was a red herring villain. It was bittersweet how she ended up alone (but not alone) but managed to make the best out of her situation. I really liked the episode and I think once we get more info on a future episode, this is going to be a great rewatch

I don't understand what Old Ruby is trying to communicate by doing the same movements over and over again, especially when, at the end, she whispers don't step; or why it took her so long to appear- why she couldn't come closer until 80 years later and why she wasn't facing her at first or why she appeared blurry or sounded staticy to everyone But there's definitely something about Ruby because no one freaks out until they look back at young Ruby. Kate mentioned the perception filters and there's one around the old lady, but maybe that's because there's one around young Ruby that people can only see once they notice the old lady and then look back at young Ruby because it breaks the perception. But when old Ruby views young Ruby she doesn't look any different. And now that it's undone, and the doctor didn't see Old Ruby, and Ruby can't recall this happening to her, how will this perception filter be broken so we can find out who Ruby really is? Kate mentioned something about this timeline being more supernatural and I think we already knew this was a separate timeline with a more fantasy aspect so it'll be interesting to see how Ruby is tied into that. It's also interesting that every theme so far had an element of snow, family, and music. But I didn't notice the music in this one and the family theme wasn't as in-your-face as previous episodes.
