DR WHO has lost its way totally with woke PC brigade doctors since Matt smith
@myphone4590Күн бұрын
Because Gallifrey only has like six time lords. Someday they'll declare Omega was the Master because he opposed the Doctor. The Meddling Monk was the Master too. Borusa was being controlled by The Master. Rassilon is actually The Doctor. Sigh...

Great review as always 😊 I really enjoyed this special, loved the humour, the hotel and the characters - especially Trev lol. I'll admit there was a moment when the Doctor was explaining about the time loop that I didn't know what the french he meant, but got it in the end 😂 The ending was done beautifully imho. Looking forward to the next series ❤

I stopped watching New Who around the time of Matt Smith's stupid "Fish Custard." ... Although, I've been recording it ever since in High Definition, just in case I want to watch Dozey Whittaker, or Shooty Gateaux ... Which is unlikely! 📺👎🤣 Joyeux Noël Et Bonne Année MMXXV EDIT: Pre-ordered some PROPER Who on Boxing Day ... Season 07 ... When Daleks were Daleks, and kids were scared! ... Okay, so no actual Daleks in Season 07, but you catch my drift?

Thank you for your comment. I would recommend going back and taking a look. Especially the Matt Smith era. Yes not all the episodes were bangers but Matt was always on top form. The Peter Capaldi and Jodie Whittaker eras are not the strongest (in case of Peter's not my particular favourite) but again there were some brilliantly written and well made episodes to feast on. I'm curious, does this mean you did not watch the 50th Anniversary Special The Day Of The Doctor? 👍
@marcse7en19 сағат бұрын
@TimeyWimeyReview If I did, I've forgotten it. I don't think I did. I remember "Day Of The Daleks" in 1972! I can remember Who from 50 years ago, but New Who is instantly forgettable. I seem to remember something about a Dalek "not storing stuff" on New Year's Eve? Was that Dozey Whittaker? I have very little enthusiasm or interest in New Who. One of the crappest lines in the entire history of Doctor Who, was David I-Love-Myself Tennant, "Water always wins!"

I really enjoyed the episode 😊 Was it the best Christmas special no there are better ones but it was what a Christmas special should be. Fun, cheesy, sad, whimsical, thought provoking in places and totally and utterly Stephen Moffat 😂 It was a special for ALL ages and I would be happy to rewatch it when I do my rerun sessions. I loved Anita and Trev and I did like Joy although I will agree her character wasn't utilised as much as the trailers suggested. The Bethlehem written on screen didn't bother me I actually thought it was funny 🫣 My verdict was 8/10 but I didn't really go in with particular expectations so maybe that helped.

Thank you for sharing. I think I geared myself up for something different, so maybe that's why I was left with mixed feelings. But your analysis is spot on 😁👍
@jennyb45432 күн бұрын
I almost cried at Joy's outburst, but when I saw her mom, it got to me. I knew a couple of people who were in that same situation. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't as big of tense as an ending with the starseed because they made it seem more dangerous, but it tugged at my emotions harder, especially seeing Joy be the star and connect with her mom, and maybe it'll have a bigger payoff in the future. And maybe it's just me getting emotional because my mom's birthday was Xmas Eve and she died 2 years ago on December 29th, and Xmas was her favorite holiday, so the mom and star thing really got to me. But overall, this had a good balance of that emotional hit, the Sci fi timey wimey whimsy, and the comedy. I really enjoyed it

at the end of the day it doesn't matter because this fan edit isn't canon.

Thank you for your comment. I have the same thought process too. Until or unless this is integrated into NuWho. I'm sticking with what Terrance Dicks said. That they are two separate characters. I appreciate being part of the In Colour presentation though 😁👍

I agree about the editing, it made some parts of the story quite difficult to follow, and the pacing was VERY inconsistent! I still appreciate the obvious effort put into chopping a huge story into a 90 min slot.

@marcse7en4 күн бұрын
I recorded it. I saw the regeneration at the end. From the bit I saw, I thought it was God-awful. Colourised stories often are. The colourisation looked poor on my 4K TV, and there was a serious mismatch in picture quality between the original colourised footage, and the regeneration scene. The regeneration scene was clearly done by a fan of New Who, as Troughton had the usual stupid flames coming from his extremities. Then they tacked-on a bit of Spearhead. And they used the Pertwee end credits on a Troughton story. Awful, awful, awful. And most of the story went on the cutting room floor! Why bother with this butchered technicolour rubbish, when we have the 10 original episodes, in glorious Black-&-White-O-Vision?
@Benjiesbeenbetter.4 күн бұрын
I know the original is padded out, but it wasn't by _that_ much. Jennifer and the Lieutenant were too easy to convince here. It wasn't established well enough how the hypnotism was boosted by eyewear, the resistance just turned up instead of being introduced, and there was no sense that the characters had built a cameraderie, especially when The Doctor "betrayed" the resistance.
@JamieCarscadden4 күн бұрын
Colourisation good but story too rushed and cut to smithereens with musical sound unnecessary couldn't hear the story and too jumpy

FINALLY. Someone else who believes the *Tokamak T.A.R.D.I.S.* (14th/15th doctor’s T.A.R.D.I.S.) as the best Tardis. I can’t state how much I love it. It’s the best a reinvention of the classic tardises and I hope it stays for a LOOOOOONG time.

When will it be on BBC America? What I thought. Well if Disney shows it, about 70%+ of fans will not be watching, there is a boycott of Disney (over issues not related to Doctor Who) in the USA and a majority of the world. Modern audiences are missing out on so much in the way of Doctor Who. They will not know what its like watching Part 1 of a Doctor Who episode, then talking with your friends as you all speculate what will happen in Part 2. The "Modern" Audience is too impatient to sit still long enough to watch serial Doctor Who They want it now now now. Very sad that this has now lead to this Butchering of the War Games. If its like the Daleks, then it will not be watchable, too much of the story will be LEFT on the Cutting Room Floor. Sad.

Yes, but is it the over-priced Limited Edition, that takes up a lot of shelf space, and which falls apart, if you stare at it too hard? ... Or, does one have to wait YEARS, for the Standard Edition?

Not a fan. And thinking about it, I don’t like many Dalek stories 😮. The first one, Evil* , Planet and Death are ok. And thats yer lot. Even as a kid I wasn’t a Dalek fan. The Cybermen - especially the 60s variants - were my thing. Terrifying! * I chose Evil with a degree of authority as I saw the repeat in 1968. Would love to see it again as my memories of it are really very good.
