This sounds stupid but this made me tear up. Thank you for the way you treated him. Some people would have made him feel stupid for not listening to the time and he probably wouldn’t have came back at 8…. I know he did with the respect you showed him.

In the UK Interpass is used to describe the maximum temperature allowed in the base material outside of the HAZ when this happens welding has to stop until the temperature drops to the minimum pre heat level

How does an instructor miscommunicate? These kids are paying a fortune just for the opportunity to learn from so called “experts”. Let’s pull it together brother and give these guys a chance. Good lord.

I wanted to be a welder when I was younger. An old timer told me not to because he said welders go blind. Is that still true?

In high-school I was a senior at 18, so through the school I got access to free welding but since I was an adult I qualified for the R.O.P. night class, which got me certified for free, 6010 is definitely the hardest to perfect, but definitely worth learning! I'd take a stick welder over wire feed any day, I'm more confident in my stick welding skills and prefer to do it that way because im proficient at it, but it know great feed welders too. The biggest hurdle with stick welding is getting the angle right for your job, always try to put your work at a comfortable angle and keep it as flat as possible.

For those who don't understand, she welded 2 pieces of metal together, then cut the now 1 piece of metal perpendicular to her weld 3 times causing 4 pieces of metal to be bent at her weld point. It gets bent upward and downward to test the strength of the top and bottom of your weld and see how pure/uncontaminated it was.
