This Portland team was extraordinary: Damon Stoudamire, Steve Smith, Pippen, Rasheed Wallace, Sabonis!!! And, on the bench, Schrempf, Brian Grant, Bonzi Wells, Greg Anthony, Stacey Augmon, I'm probably forgetting some ones... The real 2000 champions 😎

How incredible of a player was Terry Porter? He was the original Chauncey Billups. Incredibly efficient Point Guard who could shoot from anywhere but didn't have the explosiveness or athletic ability to finish consistently at the rim. Instead, he relied on that smooth jumper, chambe of pace dribble and punp fake to get to the line. He always played at the pace he wanted and couldn't be sped up. Always kept the ball moving, excellent at the enrty pass and wa someone who knew how to keep his teammates cutting and screening by rewarding them with the ball.. Defensively he wasn't special but he played hard and made smart rotations even in a league with strictly man to man defense. He would excel in today's NBA although hed need to improve his quickness but that three ball would be devastating. Since Chauncey is retired his comp is a taller Fred VanVleet with a much better mid range shot.

O' Brien was a fine commissioner. I mention it because so many people think David Stern was so great. I just didn't see it like some others did. O'Brien took case of business and didn't seem to care about public perception or being a "star."

Scottie had too many knuckleheads around him, and he wasn't really the #1 Scorer type ever in his career, although he could do it when necessary and he almost always put up points..........in the final game against the Lakers later on, they needed a #1 scorer to step up, when everyone was choking.

I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American and male. As one who has an inferiority complex to Boston, the Lakers and Chicago, I wonder how the REST of the country felt, that for 3 years, of ALL teams, Portland and Seattle were going to the Finals!

Pippen to me was better than his Portland teammates. He carried the team in the finals and was very unselfish. His IQ of knowing what his teammates could and couldn’t do was in his mind and he stepped up. Steve Smith would be second to him in Portland. Funny how Damon was trying to be Scottie’s Robin and Scottie utilized Shrempfs talent with unbelievable passes

You Pippen simps are DELUSIONAL AF. He wasn’t even the 2nd best player on the Blazers. Sheed, Sabonis and Steve Smith carried Scottie’s overrated ass throughout the 2000 season. Btw, the Blazers made the WCF the year before vs the Spurs while Scottie’s overrated ass got gentlemen swepted by the Lakers despite having Charles Barkley and Hakeem on his side, LOLOL. 😂🤣
