It really was a highly overrated, poorly written, idiotic show...

He was a joke and a psycho, but he was also good. Being cool can be corny too

When you see Liberace always recall that he’s just a friendly and humble guy from a small town in Wisconsin. Ain’t that somethin’?

I've tried to play that left hand part and it is dang near impossible to play it cleanly! Forget about adding the right hand that is doing something entirely different. You have to have two brains!

The Total Package. Nobody can match Liberace!!!

Because he would later become the great showman in Las Vegas and on TV wearing magnificent ostentatious costumes and jewelry, some critics said Liberace was not a great pianist. I beg to differ. He could act too! I notice the producer didn't ask Vladimir Horowitz to play the part!

While in a Liberace Talent Search Contest, I met his brother George in person, as he was hosting the event at the Hilton in Philadelphia, PA. He was very nice. He took me up to his motel room, called his brother, and said something about having someone with him that would like to talk to him. I was 10 years old. I believe it was 1980. So, I did speak to Liberace, but I have no idea what either of us said as I was kind of shocked, and I was a shy kid anyway. I remember he was very kind though. I’d do anything for a recording of that call!!

I saw Liberace for the first time at a concert in the 1963, when I was 10. After the show Liberace came out to talk to the newspapers and I poked my way past the reporters and he was kind enough to let me ask a question. I told him I had been playing piano for 5 years and asked him how I could play like he did, and he laughed and said, "Son, play with your heart and in another 5 years I'll be coming to hear YOU play."

Always wished I could play like Liszt, but hands too small. Loved his Etude in d flat. Liberace had the reach to play Liszt. Liszt had huge hands I'm told

The word is thrown around too much these days, but Liberace truly was a legend. He was 100% unique and there will never be another like him. The man was an absolute prodigy on the piano and was the definition of an entertainer. There will never be another like him. I'm glad that these recordings exist so that younger generations will get the chance to see him for themselves.
