this is ray traced and you're incorrect to think ray tracing requires photorealism. Pixar uses ray tracing and path tracing for example

Too shinny, too blurry. We really do not need Ray Tracing for Gaming, as a gamer a developer and a business. AS a gamer RT don't add to the game at all, as a developer it, it raises development time, stress, and system requirements, and as a business it raises costs. Ironically it's perfect for making movies and digital effects.

this is factually incorrect ray tracing is many times faster to work with than traditional lighting as we can simply place objects where we want and get lighting that behaves as we'd expect instead of wasting so much time baking out fake lighting effects. If you've never rendered environments with baked lighting then you are very fortunate, it sucks and it requires any artists involved in the modeling, texturing, lighting, and placement stages to be consistent with each other or requires one person to do all of that (I've done this and it sucks). Ray tracing can add time to development only when its done in addition to the old horrible method. When we can replace all lighting with RT (not far away at all) everything will be better

I agree its too shiny, the point was to parody videos of "remasters" where everything is shiny like its wet for no reason. But there is no SSR in this video. The added lighting is entirely raytraced.

no. they patched that feature out to prevent people from chaining execs for stuff like supergliding. afaik you have to restart game now if you happen to reset your FOV by e.g. changing graphics. so many useful QOL features ruined because respawn didnt like a few people abusing them.

GJ man you did it, even in 2024 this is still an issue and I just found your video, was strugling with this for a long time. now the game has dx12 shortcut and when you run the game from there its even better.

Out of all the Apex optimization videos that are on KZbin, this is literally the only one that actually works. I just got a brand new pc with an RTX 4070 super and Apex Legends still runs like s*** even with this badass PC, but thanks to this optimization, it makes the game play as it should. Now I'm getting 240 solid frames with no jittering stuttering or screen tearing. But also if you're using g-sync turn that off because g-sync is garbage and actually causes stutters. download RTSS and use the streamline sync.
