what size drill bit did you guys use? and what size bolts underneath to secure it to the the shelf?
@AdventureLab

If you're talking about mounting the Dometic Go Jug Mount, you can use a 1/4" drill bit since the SAE sizes are more available in the US. For the bolts, you can use either a 1/4" bolt or M6. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

A super interesting system. I do have a question about the 4xe though. Since the battery of the vehicle is located under the rear seats, could there be a configuration where these drawers could create an even platform with the rear seats folded forward? Purpose would be to create an even surface for a sleeping platform.
@AdventureLab
@AdventureLab 17 күн бұрын
We have had a couple of requests for that. What I thought about doing was creating drawers that were just the right height to line up with the battery hump. We haven't had much luck getting 4XE's into the shop. Want to drive to Utah?

@ 0:38 when you remove the roll bar trim to attach the shelf bracket, you use the top two holes to mount to. Would it be possible to mount the bracket using the middle two holes so the shelf can sit even lower? Thanks for your time.
@AdventureLab
@AdventureLab 17 күн бұрын
The shelf can already lower down to just above the plastic trim for the side panels. It can't go any lower than that without removing the plastic around the wheel wells.

Just finished installing a similar product, almost exqctly the same, with the added benefit of having to do it from inside without removing the tops because my entire roof is geared up for overlanding/camping. Aint no way i was taking all that off. Rest assured, it can be done with patience and a little ingenuity.

The STP can be mounted on a tire at any pressure. Please keep in mind that if you have a slow leak the STP will become loose as the tire looses pressure as it his held on with ratchet straps.

I'm torn between this and a smart cap mainly becuase of dust is there any kind of positive pressure system to prevent dust intrusion? My tonneau cover still allows a little dust in even with the tailgate sealed like crazy haha. This product looks amazing.
@AdventureLab
@AdventureLab 17 күн бұрын
I have thought about doing a pressurized system with a filter and a blower. The main problem is there is a ton of air gap in the bed and tailgate. That is the weakest link in the Gladiator bed, for sure. There are a few gaps it the corners of our LBE. I don't seal them on our shop Gladiator because I like a little bit of air, but the majority of the air comes around the tailgate. My plan was to make a set of instructions for making it "air tight". We haven't had anyone ask about that yet.

Should have a spacer not bunch of washers. Also does this mean you can't run top less then?
@AdventureLab
@AdventureLab 17 күн бұрын
We provide the small (3mm) spacers so you can fine tune if needed. We have installed several in the shop and some of them need different numbers of shims to get level. You can run topless. You'll just need to reattach the back walls after you remove the top. Most of our customers are overland focused and often times have roof racks, etc. Topless is not high on their list. If we see a push for topless, we would dig into that more.

Hopefully we will get to give our LBE and RTT a shake down this Friday. It all has been installed on our Gladiator for a while. That four letter word (work) has kept us from using it. I am definitely interested in the awning mounts. Since the LBE is short, have you considered making the awning mounts able to “telescope” to give more headroom? We did the Clayton Off Road 1.5” Overland suspension with the HD rear spring option. That too is all bolt on and gives a good ride.
@AdventureLab
@AdventureLab 3 ай бұрын
Glad you got it all installed! Looking forward to hearing how well it works for you after the shake down. As for the awning mounts, yes, there will be some type of telescoping or adjustment movement for the exact reason you mentioned. I'm still working on the specifics, but I definitely want it to be high enough to walk under. Glad the lift is working well for you. I have heard good feedback from that one as well.
