I'd like to know this answer as well. I'm willing to drill, but I thought the whole point of this MASS system was that solutions like this wouldn't require drilling.

Is there a roof rack system in development for JL/JLU Wranglers? Particularly one similar to the Rugged Ridge roof rack with 3 clamps on each side onto the freedom top gutters? It would be nice to keep all my storage and organization accessories in the AAL family. I saw a Lite Brite video where you made something for their Braptor before they went to the Rubicon trail. I think something along those lines with a JL M.A.S.S platform specific for the roof would be of interest to many people.

what size drill bit did you guys use? and what size bolts underneath to secure it to the the shelf?

If you're talking about mounting the Dometic Go Jug Mount, you can use a 1/4" drill bit since the SAE sizes are more available in the US. For the bolts, you can use either a 1/4" bolt or M6. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Did you add a washer or something under the water jug mounts? It looks like the dog bone fitting do not sit flush. A washer to take up the same amount of space ?

You could but the space difference is negligible once the mass connector is tightened down.
