In my opinion for Linen the darker color shirts tend to feel more Fall/Winter so instead I go with Light Blue, Pink, Torquoise Green, etc. It's just my personal preference though. The only exception are my Charcoal Grey trousers which are Lightweight Wool. Nice job on the video.

Hi Mark! Nice outfit as usual; shirts are sublime… shirt tuck pointers provide are very thoughtful. I really do like the aesthetic of shirts cut this way too!

Great advice on shirt tucking. Also, it is more comfortable tucked in with some slack for freedom of movement.

Apart from those great watches, how have you done so well with your shirt collar style? To me it looks like the collar has been glued to the shirt itself or something, if you know what I mean. How did you make up that collar style with the tie, please? Very neat and elegant.

Hi Mark, Love the new jacket. Give the weight of the Mockleno fabric, what is your take on the rule some guys adhere to where the trouser weight must be heavier than the jacket fabric weight? Thanks!

Great video as always, and beautiful jacket. Would be great to see a video on ties appropriate for sport jackets v ties appropriate for suits. I was interested to see Mark suggest what look like two printed ties with a sport jacket. I typically think of printed patterns as being more for suits, whereas twill stripes or grenadines (or non-silk ties) are better for sport jackets. But the exception to that rule being paisley, which I tend to think work marginally better for sport jackets. And maybe these ties are an exception as well, since they’re more casual printed patterns. Anyway, I’d be interested to hear how Mark thinks about this question. Thanks again!
@markchodotcom8 күн бұрын
Yes, good eye, I suggested two printed ties. I chose them for the colour and also the scale and spacing of the motif. I think rather than printed vs woven patterns are only part of the story. VERY generally speaking: you are more likely to find a suit in a smooth, fine fabric than a sport jacket hence I prefer finely and tightly patterned printed ties for a fine fabric suit and I wouldn't necessarily use them with a sport coat. Conversely, Sport coats are more often textured fabrics that lend themselves better to larger printed motifs (and paisleys). Honestly, these are very, very general rules and of course if you feel like it's working for you then don't let the opinion of a man on the internet dismay you. You have parents for that.

Yo, really good. As usual. 😅 I have a completely unrelated question: How do I stop my shirt from getting un-tucked? I love the look, and it is essential for a dressed up vibe, obviously. But I seem to always be having to re-tuck my shirt anytime I sit down or bend over slightly or whathaveyou.... Is it a pants thing? Or a shirt thing? I THINK I have properly fitted clothes, although I've yet to visit a tailor. Any advice?
@markchodotcom8 күн бұрын
That is a good question. There are a few reasons why your shirts are untucking too easily. 1. Your shirt might not be long enough and so it's hard for the shirt to be held in place well by the trousers. 2. Your shirt and/or trouser is a bit too tight and it's being easily shifted out of place by your body as a result. My shirt typically has a little bit of slack vertically where it tucks into the waistband and so even if i'm moving around, it's just using up some of the slack rather than pulling itself out of the trouser. 3. You could simply adopt my sedentary lifestyle and move little to none.

Very nice video Mark, I liked the outfits with the grey & olive trousers. I notice that you very rarely use light brown/tan leather shoes in your suggestions. How would you & the guys at The Armoury wear tan leather shoes?
@markchodotcom9 күн бұрын
It's a good observation ... I do like tan but I have yet to find a really great shade of it on a new pair of shoes. It's one of those things that looks much better aged than new. Also, in general I don't like shoes to be overly eye-catching, i.e. tan shoes + a dark suit.

LOVE the pants from the Armoury. Why can't all chinos be cut like the sport chinos? I can't afford to drop $300+ on a pair of pants - but chinos from the 60's were cut like your sport chinos, seemingly everywhere. Is it possible to find a pair of chinos for under $100 with that cut?

Can vouch for Frank Clegg. I have something around 10 pieces from him now. Only one of them is a tote, but I use it quite frequently. I personally don't wear totes over my shoulder, I carry them like a briefcase. I don't think I'll ever get over the stigma of wearing it on my shoulder. Another thing for guys that are carrying laptops, tablets, etc. Invest in a laptop or tablet sleeve to put into the bag. Most of these traditional leather bags are not going to prioritize tech as they're designed with looks and timelessness in mind.

I also have a 6 inch wrist and I think a 31mm - 34mm watch are the perfect sizes. The Patek Philippe Ref 96 is at the very top of my covet list. It's the most beautiful watch ever made. The Kikuchi Nakagawa Murakumo's tribute to the Ref 96 is breathtaking too. The different clashing "GS" and "Grand Seiko" fonts are awful. Looks cheap and I would never buy a Grand Seiko because of the lazy typography. It could easily be fixed but Grand Seiko is too stubborn to admit fault.

i love the WHAT'S ON videos and the styling videos but I'm curious why socks are not introduced. It seems the outfits are complete from pocket square to shoes but socks are ignored. Doesn't the Armoury sell socks?
@markchodotcom8 күн бұрын
Yes, I just assumed people aren't that interested. For socks, we use Bresciani, Falke and Tabio. Personally, I like Tabio the best but it's pretty subjective.
