2001 celect plus here. I have the same issue. It only happens once and awhile at idle but very noticeable in high gears. Sometimes at higher rpm it will snap out of it and run fine. Problem is the truck won’t stutter at idle long enough for me to pull the plugs out to identify where it’s coming from. Note I just changed all the pass thru connectors and wiring harness to the injector. Also checked the push tubes and they were fine.

Nice fix!!! This is what I remember most about growing up in the 70’s and 80’s, we could repair things because they were serviceable not like today where everything is throw away. Now you have a tank that’s worth $100.00 (fuel cap$30 and the repair kit $70) along with the cost of the paint. lol! Keep up the good work!

I'm going through this EXACT same problem with my 15 Cascadia DD15. I've replaced: All sensors Pipes and clamps EGR Cooler EGR Valve MCM even the freaking Turbo The only thing I haven't changed yet is the CAC (Charger Air Cooler) I want to do a pressure test on it first as I'm completely tired of throwing money at this problem. Please let me know if you find out what your problem was!
@benellis72392 ай бұрын
brother I am in the same boat you are. I have sunk a few thousand dollars into this issue. Frustration is an understatement
@nedstephens2 ай бұрын
So you have the same code? I did hook it up to a computer and cleared the codes. Ran a manual regen and everything was now looking good. I think those delta p ports were a little clogged up. I would find a mobile mechanic and pay to have a computer hooked up and run the regen before throwing any more money at it. They will be able to see sensors are working and what else might be going on with temperatures during the regen. I know this can all be frustrating. What I showed in the video was just the stuff I would do before paying for the computer to show up as these are the common issues that cause the problems.
@JakeOrionАй бұрын
Ran no less than 3 Regens after clearing the codes. It does not recode after a regen, only when the truck is pulling a trailer, leading me to believe it's the CAC with a small pinhole somewhere. Will be testing it at the end of this year when I'm home for the holidays. Will get back to you then.
@mchshop352722 күн бұрын
@@JakeOrion Any luck figuring this out? We have a fleet with 5 DD13's and 4 DD15's, only the DD13's have this code. We've replaced sensors, turbos, CAC, and still have the same issue!

Hey Ned. I have an 85' and I am dealing with the shifter. I replaced the u joints, but cannot find the bushings. What did you do on yours?
@nedstephens2 ай бұрын
Ah. Yes. That is a real problem on these. I had to take mine to a machine shop and they fixed it up. They have the tools to shave that shaft back down round and make some bushings. Try to get an estimate so they don't get carried away. My guy said it would be easy and not cost much. Then billed me $700. I could imagine that could get even worse, so try and get an estimate. I would also suggest you have them install a grease fitting in the front bushing that will be replaced. That will come in handy in the future. Good luck on your project.
@marlonjenkins74473 ай бұрын
Sir, I've been in the lawn care business for a while now and I can tell you from experience that there is nothing cheap on these machines. Everything is high as elephant ass. If you don't know how to work on them like you do, then you are really in for some high costs because they charge outrageous prices to work on them. I really enjoyed watching this video because I do this same thing. I find machines that have busted punps or wheel motors or blown engines and I rebuild them. Even with 2500 for a new Kawasaki or Kohler engine, you still come out cheaper and you get it fixed, you know you have a good reliable machine at 1/4 the cost. I looked at a new scag the other day and it was 24,999. Are they serious? Hell naw. That's insane. So I think I'll stick to the used market. Great video.

if you’re drag link was out of adjustment that much wasn’t your steering wheel off center?
@nedstephens2 ай бұрын
Yeah, it was a mess. Once I got it going I found alot of steering issues, including the ujoints on the steering not being lined up. My suggestion when you get a really old truck is just go through everything step by step because you have no idea how many people touched it before you!
@brianw89633 ай бұрын
Perhaps it was already broken when You got it, but You must release the disengagement levers on the hydros to allow free wheeling when the pump is not running. That’s why the levers are on there, to prevent damaging the hydros in such a case.
