If Elton hadn't come along when he did, Leon would have passed on forgotten and broke! Thx Elton. ❤

Rock-n- Roll hall of fame, lol. Why not just call it music hall of fame. There's people that shouldn't even be in it but yet they are. Big joke.

I saw Leon in Knoxville twice in the seventies. On both occasions in the middle of it he would get up on the grand piano and stand and play electric guitar. So cool. One of the nights while he was climbing he fell pretty hard onto the stage but got back up, climbed on top of the piano and made his guitar sing for the audience. I saw Sir Elton at the Blaisdell in Honolulu in the 90s with some of his original crew from the 70s. He was briliant. When they made the album The Union I was so happy and then the Hall of Fame. Leon had always been so deservng and Sir Elton showed his true character and unconquerable greatness. Thanks to both for the timeless music they have made. Bravo

The rollicking ending to Burn Down the Mission was definitely a tip of the hat to Leon.

I had no idea what had happened to Leon Russell. I was lazy in the of one of my idols. Elton John did the job for me. So heart-breeakingly beautiful. Please watch to the end. The one and and only Leon Russell.

Just watched this again, and after watching so many other sometimes disappointing inductions over the years, this is what they SHOULD be, not only a celebration of the talent, but of the heart. I found myself crying from start to finish, because Leon's music was so much a part of my musical life from the 1950's until today. Then I looked up Elton's birthday and it was the same as mine, March the 25th, the synchronicity of the moment knocking me over like a feather.

Leon Russell and Warren Zevon... The two names you know but never knew that influenced all the music you've listened to, by everyone, for decades. From writing to playing to producing, one or the other of them has their finger prints on it. Warren Zevon (whom I'm proud to have called friend) is know for just a handful of songs (to regular music listeners) over the years but, if you look up his personal discography of a dozen albums and then look up his credits on other people's music, it'll blow you away. "Poor, poor, pitiful me" by Linda Rhondstat, he wrote and you should hear his version. I've been listening to Leon Russell for decades and am aware of his influences, I'm glad to see that he got the recognition he deserves. Both of them have passed through time and our lives but they are always with us, every time we turn on our music and let it take us to times and places we've been in our lives. Bless them and their families in every way.

Thank god for Elton John, but really Leon Russell was the MAN!!!! I saw him in concert several times in the 70’s and that SOB could absolutely rock the house. He played that damn piano like his fingers were made of wood! Then along came Elton John, and you could see and hear the parallels between the two. They were both equally astounding in concert, and we the people loved every minute that they preformed. Outstanding, and my heart goes out to both artists, they meant so much to all of us. Thank you both!
