Could I use a cast net in a private area? I’m 1.4.
@searunflytackle
@searunflytackle 18 күн бұрын
If it is private in the sense that it is a lake that was built on the property and they stocked their own than you can. If it is a natural body of water that just has private property around it you cant use cast nets or any type of net to catch them, hook and line only.
@Wott786

@@searunflytackle it is a private lake. The water itself is owned. I bought a cast net, it was 123$ and works amazing, I just wanted to catch minnows, why are cast nets illegal?

They just arnt a legal method to fish in bc. It doesn't matter if the lake is on private property, if it is a natural body of water the province owns the water and the fish that are in it.

Have you ever tied this on lighter jig head to be able to fish on fly rod?
@searunflytackle
@searunflytackle Ай бұрын
We have not but it would definitely work! just have to downsize length of the materials. either a very light 1/64oz compleat angler jig head. or there are head turner beads on the market (jig beads) that you can pair up with jig hooks to make a variety of different size's

Thanks for your reply. I pour and tie my own jigs. I’ve tied some up in in 1/16 and 1/64 and sent them up to another KZbinr to test them this early season and report back to me how/which ones fished the best. I told him he’s got a couple months before I fly up.

Great info, do they put out a shore fishing book? Thanks
@searunflytackle
@searunflytackle Ай бұрын
not shore fishing specifically. these maps books cover both shore fishing & fishing from a boat. some lakes are just more friendly from shore than others so depending on the lake you might see more infomation on shore fishing than others.

Can you explain the use of 2 Split rings, when 1 will do? Split ring attached to lure then the swivel and then the siwash hook attached to swivel. Is there a specific reason/advantage? Thank you
@searunflytackle
@searunflytackle 3 ай бұрын
We use a split ring between the two crane swivels to get the desired length for the hook to sit behind the hoochie. and then the top split ring in order to connect the rigged hoochie to the spinner. no exact advantage doing it this way. you could always use a bead chain swivel aswell to get the hook to sit far enough back instead. just the way we like to rig it up. Thanks hopefully this helps!

I often add a coat of Loon UV knot sense, especially if the knot is going to be going through the guides frequently but sometimes I forget. If I am just adding a butt to a sink tip I will typically leave it uncoated. Cheers!

Using a 1" foam brush, dipping just a corner in the U-40 to trim the top and bottom of the handle section, then dipping the foam brush to fill in the body of the handle with U-40 works very well. Let the application soak in for a few minutes, then smooth the finish with the brush to achieve a perfectly even surface. Let dry. I've used the U-40 for many years. Ron

Thoughts on floating a streamer/intruder under a float setup?
@searunflytackle
@searunflytackle 9 ай бұрын
definitely will work. depending on the water a jig could be better as its weighted and will allow your presentation to stay down in the strike zone. but no reason an intruder wouldnt work under a float setup. Thanks for watching!

Vibrax lures are excellent on Kodiak, AK streams. Pretty cool. One question: why did you not put a split ring on the hoochie end of the Vibrax? Only seems logical to me and you don’t run the risk of having that eye open up when fighting a big Silver? Fish On!

Why does it appear that "the most productive technique" is to drag bottom and ruin holes, kill the bite, piss people off, up until you get 4 of them in the mouth after dragging in 10 backwards??? ...Where is the DFO on vedder river teaching what is ethical or what is considerate to other licensed anglers (licensed /paid for an ethical or fair experience) vs something illegal like intentional flossers who rip and drag bottom with no intent to trick a fish to bite but instead with the intent to floss or snag? ...Just 1 officer would have a full time job dishing out fines and tracking (critical) repeat offenders during salmon season to the point where they lose their license (as it should be) vs closing sections of the river? You wanna get your license back? 2k... that's where it starts and THAT IS HOW you clean up the river from the plague. -You go after their wallet or you end fishing for them for a season... You better believe ethics will kick in after that... RANT COMPLETED.............
