You don’t need a complex fly to catch a steelhead. Big articulated, multi staged patters are fun to tie and to fish but they are not the only thing that a Steelhead will bite. This is a pattern that anyone can tie that offers what I like in a steelhead fly, a big profile, lots of flowing material that provides movement and a bit of flash to grab their attention. Tie this up in your favorite colour combinations or try this one, I like how it looks in the water and hopefully you will too!
