Hey sir great project. Im creating a similar thing. Ive 3d printed you model but the spring is weak might be because of material. Can you share with us the sketches or dimensions that you used or the CAD files. These stls are very hard to reverse engineer

Thank you for posting this, I learned a lot. I do wonder why you are able to make such selections, where I have to first project items into the current sketch. But with doing that, it worked flawless!

How weight can move up ? I don't understand how it's work

Amazing!

Do the hands move discretely though? By that I mean, does the minute hand only click to the next number at the top of the minute and does the hour hand click to the next number at the top of the hour? If the time is 7:30, the hour hand should be on 7 and the minute hand should be on the 6. The hour hand should NOT be half-way between the 7 and 8. I mean ... I know every clock NOW does it that way, but they used to be built so the hands moved discretely and I'd like to see that come back.

can't believe i'm saying this because it's a mechanical clock BUT that looks complicated.

Dear Jacques what kind of a spring/metal did you use for the balance spring? It has been driving me crazy, because with 3d printed PLA i can't get it to have enough force to spin the wheel back.
@bodomarton87915 ай бұрын
Hi Jacques! I was wondering why doesn't my spiral have enough power to rotate the balance? I've used your files by the way

Excellent tutorial. Here both wheel are rotating. I wonder... Is it possible to change a bit the animation to make one of the wheels stationary and the other one "walking" around it?

How do the drum and gear 80 go together with the rachet? You just assembled it as one piece.

You knowhowto use that software ..how long have you been using it, and just as hobby or do you use it for your dayjob?i just got into 3 D printing just a few weeks ago, am getting my way round onshape, that was , for me, the easiest to start with...but i would like to make a mechanical clock myself, just dont know where to find the info
@Cole_Bradshaw Жыл бұрын
There is a guy who has a KZbin channel called JBV creative. He made a clock that you can buy the files for. Not as special as making it yourself but still cool.

One thing I am still struggling to grasp, is how to determine the needed radius for an escape wheel. I have planned out the sizes of my 2nd-4th wheels and my pinions, but so far I can't figure out what radius escape wheel I will need to work well with them. If you have any insights, or resource recommendations it would be much appreciated! Thanks for the wonderfully informative content!

smaller is less friction, but smaller need more prescision in my roskopf watch I was able to go as small as 40 mm for the escape wheel , printed on a Ender 3 and I use module 1,2
