pin Escapement Clock prototype 2

Slowly making improvement on my 8 day project clock
Remade front frame to have better view on the pins of the escapement
Improved the pendulum suspension with a 0.2 mm guitar wire
Got to version 9 of the escape wheel, without bearings
Feel like they are not needed with such low load, about 2 grams of pressure at pins
And it simplifies the build

Looking good. It seems to perform very similar to a deadbeat escapement. The rounded pins might allow the escapement to start spinning gradually, which seems like an advantage since it should start pushing over the entire range of engagement. A traditional deadbeat with square corners would have a small period where the pallet disengages before the escapement can start rotating.

Yes it is almost a deadbeat escapement But it does not self start with a 1 second pendulum But it does with a very short and light one Making this clock with small gears has a bigger challenge than anticipated I had to redo a lot of the gears Use fresh new filament And check the roundness of the gears Still often have +/-0.2 mm on the roundness On the 14.4 mm diameter of the the 12 teeth gear, that is quite a lot I tried with bearings But finally got rid of them and think that just a 0.1 mm play on the 2 mm piano wire worked the best
