First 12 minutes were great when he stuck to facts. Began to go sideways when he drifted off to the nay sayers of which there are far too many (ho hum). I saw it at the drive in as a kid in 1967 and loved it then and still do. It's a perfect 60's time capsual. The music is great as is the set design. The huge cast of stars is fun. There is some really funny dialogue. He doesn't get it. One of the best things is it doesn't concern about trying to be cohesive like every other film. The Scotish stuff at the begining is great. Sad he starts out with good analysis and then goes for the "I'll join the haters club" like most. Oh well, no need to sub to this channel.

I liked the show more than you. I think part of its charm for me is its upbeat attitude (so one area I do agree is that Hayes was the best character) but I loved all the main characters as well as its warped humour and occasional nod to some of the darker elements of the 1980s. A good example is episode 3 Guess What's Coming to Dinner; its plot twist is darkly humorous and taps into a big fear people of that era had.

Very good. The original is a favorite of mine, and I agree with your commentary, completely. You are exactly right. I just watched the Remake two days ago. BUT, I THINK THE ORIGINAL WAS BOGIE'S BEST EVER MOVIE !

The remake does not understand the sensibility of the original. The original is a classic.

Great analysis! Thanks for sharing it with us. I thought the remake was just downright awful. Updating the movie to be in 1998, while STILL using the 1960 script was just odd, antiquated and made the characters, motivations, and scenes just seem STUPID. Take the opening scene for example where Marion is with Sam in the motel. She was with him for three hours, suposively on a lunch break. They discuss his ex wife, and their affair. Come on! In 1998 there is nothing scandalous about a woman dating a divorced man, so why the shame? Why the motel? Marion would have her own place in 1998. Also, why the intense desire for Marion to be married at all? In 1960, yes. I could see that for a woman. But in 1998, Marion wouldn't need that. She was a working woman, independent, and could simply date whoever she wished without marriage. Also, in 1960 it might have been acceptable for her to take an extended lunch (and go home sick after returning), but in 1998 it screams IRRESPONSIBLE and would end up in her being fired. A lunch hour was a thing of the past. And that's just the opening scene. Vince Vaugh will never be half the actor Anthony Perkins was.

I watch you tube episodes of the three stooges almost every week. It doesn't matter how many times I have seen an episode, I still laugh. I especially like the Shemp episodes and the ones with Christine McIntyre. She was so beautiful and classy and a good actress as well.

The wave in the 2006 film was created by an underwater earthquake it’s hinted on the bridge of the ship when the first officer tells the crew to quiet and says do you feel that? And then states something is off before looking out the port side of the bridge. In the script they had planned for an underwater earthquake to occur but decided not to make it in the movie but it still happens.

so i have decided that its time that i rewatch all 6 sharknado movies, saw the first one today and i have genuinely never been more fucking pissed at a movie lmao the first 30 minuets is more of a Shark-flood than Tornado before the Tornados even arrive, then it takes another 20 minuets for the Tornadoes to actually do anything after you first see them and oh my god the main characters ex-wife and daughter are the two most awful characters to ever exist 10/10 highly recommend and a must watch good fun

With their eccentric oeuvre and penchant for endearing oddball characters, one can be forgiving for thinking the Coen Brothers would've been a perfect choice for redoing an Ealing comedy classic. But no! Goes to show some things just can't be remade regardless of the director's skill and talent.

Bond's Walther P99 was NOT empty when he attempted to shoot Miranda Frost after finding out she was the traitor. Remember that deleted scene from *"GoldenEye"* where Valentin Zukovsky stated to the Afghan gun-seller that the Chinese counterfeit Glock 17 was made with the firing pin being too short? Miranda simply sabotaged the firing pin of Bond's P99 while it was still full of bullets. It is made much more clearly in Raymond Benson's novelization of the film.
