You drive great i love speeds above 80 too slow for conditions.i say 90 is a good speed like autobaun.my car couldnt keep up with out blowing it up.right car no fear going 160 plus

I have a 2016 kia forte manuel lx.had to spend money on rotted brake lines seized in wisconsin.i regularly drive 85-100 car does this easy.and gets over 33mpg i hit 133 and let off shaking.with right tires a kia will go fast.maintanence an issue.holds 85-90 not stepping on it.horsepower kia lie they are fast they cant handle the horsepower poorly made but if you can on a straight quick better than a mustang

We’re you running stock brakes/fluid? If so, how’d they hold up?

Yes, running everything stock. Fluid temps were good and although brakes held up fine, they wore out significantly after this event due to heavy braking.

Temps were actually fine but I also wasn't running continuous laps, there was about a 10-15 min gap between runs. Try it out man! Look into your local SCCA, they host a lot of events like this.

Stock brakes held up great! I’ve used them through several autocross sessions and are still going strong. The PS4 are really good too! It’s what I’ve been running after upgrading the stock kumhos

How is it using a dct? Everytime I swap into my buddy's dct Forte, I always end up like 6 to 10 seconds slower than the run with my 6 spd Forte, no matter how hard I try or what tactics I use.

I like the DCT. It’s versatile and quick! My times are not far off from other competitors in Autocross. I have already placed 2nd and 3rd in different events.

The Kumho suck. I drove on them for a month and got rid of them. My Yokohama Advan Apex V601 was just right.

It's a 280 treadwear. I've had them for almost a year. They should be about the same if the PS4 is wear like the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. The Yokohama are significantly cheaper than the PS4.

Hey man, nice driving! I noticed that you kept traction controlled enabled. Do you think it would have made a different, time wise as well as control during sharp turns, if you had turned it off? Also, did you have this in sport mode? I assume so as I notice you using the shift nob here and there.

Thanks I try! lol I actually had the stability and traction control disabled during all the runs. But to answer your question: yes it does make a huge difference in how the car handles and therefore affects timing. Good catch! I was in "manual sport mode" and shifting to override the automatic shifting..it's not really fully manual as once it reaches 6K RPM it will upshift automatically. I was experimenting with this a lot during these sessions.

Just out of curiosity. What speed were you taking these corners at? My 22 forte barely squeals under 40 taking HARD corners

@@BoostedGT2 I'd say about 30-35 MPH. There's a lot of hard braking involved in these turns though, the squealing comes from the traction control being disabled and allowing the tires to fully rotate through the turn

The standard Kumho tires don't cut it when doing an autocross. They're barely good enough for the street.

They’re honestly not bad. I have gotten about 18K miles on the stock kumho including 2 autocross sessions. They’re now right at the point where they need to be replaced. Any recommendations?

The forte GT is offered in a manual transmission. I have the DCT version. Most autocross tracks Max out at 2nd gear between obstacles though.
