And some guarded Singapore’s skies at least until the British withdrawal in 1971. In fact we started with Hunter jets as frontline fighters.

Correlli Barnett's _Pride and Fall_ series of books on wartime and post-war Britain give a full and realistic account of Britain in the 20th century. They are all excellent, well-written reads and most interesting and puts the hyperbolic chauvinist triumphalist propagandist tosh into its proper perspective. _The Pride and Fall_ series comprises: (1) _The Collapse of British Power_ (2) _The Audit of War: The Illusion and Reality of Britain as a Great Nation_ (published in the U.S. as _The Pride and the Fall: The Dream and Illusion of Britain as a Great Nation)_ (3) _The Lost Victory: British Dreams, British Realities, 1945-50_ (4) _The Verdict of Peace: Britain Between Her Yesterday and the Future_ I also recommend his excellent historical account of the wartime Royal Navy in the Second World War, _Engage the Enemy More Closely._

It's 2022 November when you watch this video think out actually stupid mankind is… They were losing a human life once a month and also after the war still putting out tons of money. Frightened still from World War II I imagine that in itself is another topic of how sickening our Fellow humans are… If you're on KZbin and you see a lot of idiotic things from politics and war and just stupid things it will get to you eventually… Your life is meaningless in the scope of our civilization. And that's the truth

@@Merlin-lc4zu OK... if you mean. 1) The funny looking guy with little mustache stopped at will bombing the living crap out of the limey's, a huge blunder on Der Fuhrer's part, to focus on Eastern front. Germany had air superiority early on and much of early stages. 2) USA entered and was putting germans on their heals with high loss of American Air Crews doing daylight bombing missions. Eventually US had air superiority in last days over England and Germany. USA ruled the skies. 3) The entire population of England lived in bunkers and fear from air raids, not much ruling there. If that is ruling OK. I will agree the Brits fought bravely and did hold the German air force back at high enough loss to hurt them... BUT Rule? No barely survived with huge Brit losses to fight long enough to wear Gernany down. It was pretty desperate. In the end yes England and the World did not fall to Germany and Japan... mostly due to USA. God Bless America. You are Welcome.

@@IN_THIS_DAY_AND_AGE Late to both wars? Ha ha shut up you ungrateful ignorant child. Both war' were 5000 miles away and didn't have to help at all. USA was involved in WWII well before Dec 1941, by supplying planes, weapons, ammo, supplies and mercenaries. READ a F'ing HISTORY BOOK. The Brits (Neville Chamberlain) tried appeasing Germany, sure invade Poland. America suppose to jump into every foreign war at the drop of a hat? Then idiots like you will say oh America aggression blaa blas blaa. Anti American twit. What country are you from? I'm sure I can comment on it. Without America at great cost in blood and treasure half the World would be speaking German and the other half japanese. America was by far the most decisive fighting force in the history of mankind and especially WWII, and it was for GOOD, not evil. Don't forget that. And you are Welcome. PS Your ignorance knows no bounds. Vietnam was going on for a long time with the French who colonized it, before America was involved. Again there are things called books, read one and stop regurgitating ignorant anti American troupes. TURN off your social media, stop playing video game and smoking pot, and stop regurgitating dumb anti-American BS on subjects you have zero clue on. Open that history book up and start reading. Then read another and another. America didn't lose, but settled a peace treaty and withdrew. Two years later North Vietnam invaded. We should have stayed but Americans tired of a half way war with no plan to decisively win. USA leaders failed. Today Vietnam, a place I've traveled to and visited several times in the last 10 years, have friends there, is a communist country, very poor and a puppet of China. They could be like South Korea. Do you think USA could not have destroyed North Vietnam, invaded, made it our own? This was also a cold war proxy war with USSR. We had no plan to win. The peace treaty was best but we did not stay like we did in Korea to keep the peace. We had to leave in accordance eitth Paris Peace treaty. WE CAN'T BE THE POLICE OF THE WORLD WHILE OTHERS DO ZERO. Get off your ass and you fight... F'ers Korea war? In this case we secured it by being there for the last 70 yrs and UAA is still there. Look at the difference between North and South Korea today. South Korea is a powerhouse with capitalism, electronics, car companies and exporting their culture. Very high standards of living. That's because of America. You are welcome Korea. You are welcome World. America is a blessing to you and don't deserve USA. Our technology and inventions we share with the world and capitalism has brought more people out of poverty than any other time in history. So shut up and be grateful. Stop saying dumb false whiny Lil bitch comments that have no historical or factual context.

OMG. Finally. So many people completely unaware of what happened during those days. Here in Brazil they even think it was just like the fifties. I even suspect there is a complo to erase "my" generation. I keep correcting the wrong information that pops a lot. They threw sixities parties with girls dressed as if they were dancing to Elvis rock. They don't know we had mini skirts at that time. And that the whole conception of life changed. And it started right there in England. Swimming London, yes. The Beatles arrived bringing all colours of the rainbows to our lives. They opened the doors...and it was an invasion of good vibes. I am not talking about music only. I am talking about behaviour and a whole new conscience! The youth arrived from the working class, most of them, to occupy they space and do things with a brand new flavour. A revolution with love. Homossexuality was not a crime anymore, women became free, we could not accept racism and stuff like that. In such a "groovy" way. I was blessed enough to see it close to me in the last year of the decade. 1970. But here in Brazil things were also changing in spite of our dictatorship. Because our minds were open. Thank you so much, Sir Michael Caine. From the bottom of my heart.

The toilet paper they used to create the kazoo sound wasn't very good... George Harrison complained it was "hard and shiny" and also felt like linoleum and the fact that it was marked as "EMI Ltd." (to avoid vandalism). This roll of toilet paper was auctioned off by the Abbey Road Studios in 1980.
