Everything Todd says is correct in my experience. However, I think pick up knowledge can make you end up in unnecessary situations. If you have to do everything absolute right to get a girl, she probably is not for you. There’s any woman in my memory that worth this amount of effort. The best ones act with commom sense and opens her way for you. Even if It’s only for fun.

I've always been guilty of falling into one of the two extremes .. either attraction or comfort .. and it usually led to nowhere, as you just said It never crossed my mind that I should alternate the two sides this way! The few occations I did that on instinct without being conscious of it led to extremely stimulating interations with the girl!

Live in Sweden where there is a law against any drinking at all and driving. So the first mistake with the cars would only happen for non drinkers, haha. However, getting the right location is good advice. Dating place which is engaging but not too absorbing of attention is good. My best ever date was in a museum with dim lights, not so many people inside but not totally empty either. Mega nice tension in there!

Disagree about the comedy club as a date location if you have at least SOME chemistry and have had a brief intro conversation with her (so it's not a waste of time/money). Lot's of reasons it can be a great date. They occur at night, you're crowded in so sitting very close together, there's generally a 2 drink min., and it takes ALL the pressure off of conversation and will probably put her in a good mood as long as she enjoys the comedy (avoid vulgar and offensive comics of course). And even if the date is a flop, the night isn't a total loss if you enjoyed the show, it just cost you an extra ticket/drinks. Agree that a coffee date is generally a poor and awkward date. Usually earlier in the day, bright lighting, lots of noise and traffic and she'll perceive it as very cheap and transactional and lacking creativity. Never had a good coffee date. While cliche, I actually like the meeting in the park, or on the beach or boardwalk, or a local art or music festival, carnival, etc. and walking around and casual conversation. See her in different environments, sample foods from vendors, or pack a light dinner with finger foods, small sandwiches, fruits and a bottle of sparkle water and wine, etc. Walking side by side is far less awkward and stressful than staring at each other over a table. It's also why road trips can be so enjoyable, because you can talk and get to know each other without the pressures of staring at each other.

I mostly agree with this advice, with the exception of the texting on the intervening days. Yes, this guy should have texted her that same day he met her. Yes, he should have confirmed the date the day of. Alslo, I have personally have found that women appreciate when you text them when you are on the way. All that being said, I have ruined more situations by overtexting. I'm a big believer in texting being for setting dates. Thats it. If you text her a lot she'll see that as being overly needy and will flake on you. She doesn't know you and most women don't want to be pen pals after just meeting you. Tell her you are going to text her in a couple of days and set up plans with her. Then you do exactly that. Then you wait till the day of the date and confirm. That is my formula and I have had no problems with it. And honestly, I disagree that if you dont' text a girl in the intervening days between setting up the plans and the date that she'll forget about you. If she forgets about you in that time, she was never that excited about you to begin with.
