First Miyazaki makes that massive scorpion back in Belurat and now there's flying scorpions. Pretty sure I swung off that exact post in that fight. On my recent rando play through the eyes in that dungeon bugged out and would instant proc death had to just wait for them to register and move for every single section of those projectiles. These rune bears caused so much problem on the same seed one spawned on a stairway in shadow keep and the other completely body blocked a cliffside in stone coffin fissure, actual menaces.

Never seen that fog wall before, my only guess is it's a PvP fog wall though I'm not sure why it would be up during then. Some really nice loot this time 👀 You actually do a Captain America shield throw with the Smithscript Shield weapon art, it is also crazy good for only costing 3 FP and NPCs do not seem to input read it. Taylew is also a really solid spirit summon walks at a snail pace but is extremely tanky, people have used it to 1v1 the final DLC boss by healing it with Heal from Afar.

Golden Vow does exist in the base game as both an incantation and weapon art. Where the weapon art lasts about half the duration time, and the buff % is slightly reduced. I believe the consumable version is an upgrade over the weapon art with slightly higher buff %, and reduced FP cost for the trade off of being a consumable. I couldn't really think of any intended use case for that poise on drinking flask talisman

That Multilayered Ring of Light does leave AoE discs in position and can hit enemies multiple times kind of like the move Gideon uses back during his fight. Using the other iris on Queelign will give you his weapon which is a heavy thrusting sword that honestly looks more like a spear, but they call it Queelign's Greatsword thanks Miyazaki. I feel like Heal from Afar might be the best healing miracle in the game since you don't have to kneel down like the base game heals, there is a slight jank with the projectile AoE triggering on collision or max range, but it is a pretty sizeable area. It's around the middle of the list for FP cost but the heal scaling puts it at second place. If you need to heal yourself you just aim at the ground.

The Shadow Keep is truly a mystery bag of bosses going from my favourite Elden Ring boss to some of my least favourite bosses. I'm not sure if there is a tell for that Scadutree Avatar explosion other than just memorizing the arbitrary timing on it. Gaius does have fairly high bleed resistance. Torrent is allowed in this arena and I have seen people use the mount to , or a delayed double jump for the charge attack. I had to equip the crucible feather talisman to physically dodge that charge since it gives extra s but you take so much more damage with it equipped

Really liked this fight, might be my favourite for ER.

The Shadow Keep is so massive with all the various exploration paths, elevations, and multiple entrances. Definitely some peak level designing for sure. Those Fire Knights does give me Lothric/Black/Silver Knight feeling although having completely different attacks. I believe for the dueling shields you do have to be physically holding block while attacking to get the block, though I could be wrong.

Oh I had missed the night set and shield when I had ran through that area. The hand ballista only increases with weapon level. I do believe this new jar cannon is a direct upgrade with tha homing aspect on the projectile.

All of this info is great! I play on legend difficulty but could never figure out how to read the greens. I never knew these different camera angles existed. This is going to make a world of difference! Thank you sir!

There are indeed some minor dialogue differences in that boss cutscene if you had/hadn't hit Grandam beforehand. That boss fight is definitely chaotic with the fromsoft camera, AoE, and being backed up to a wall. Probably more useful in a PvP scenario but I saw something about how the Ailment Talisman resistance increase stays in effect even if you swap off it after the trigger, it is also a pretty significant resistance increase too though I believe the difference resistances have different timer on the duration

The Bloodfiend Arm does in fact have bleed build up on the heavy, it did get slightly nerfed on the build up as it would trigger in just one/two charged heavy which would also stagger bosses due to the high poise damage.

Expect tongue, got scammed twice.

Those Messmer soldiers hit like a truck for how normal they look, very reminiscent of the millwood knights with their warcry and ground stomps. Didn't use Milady too much on my playthrough but it does seem like a versatile weapon. I did find it odd that they didn't give Milady a stance weapon art by default since the Rellana's Cameo talisman is also obtained here. Some classic Elden Ring boss naming with Rellana who is indeed related to Rennala, definitely not an easy boss with the long reach, massive combos and quick movement. 8/8 welcome back Pontiff Sulyvahn

I did wonder if the game would let you enter the boss from that fog gate since you can skip your way to the back side of the fort, and that does answer it. That new hand to hand is pretty fun to use and it's good that they made it feel different enough from the fist weapons, it definitely does feel like a return to ds2 with their attack animations.

Yeah that Ghostflame Dragon is definitely a bit annoying if you jump in while all the various soldiers and black knights are alive because they'll just aggro onto you instead. I did not find the jump into the back of that castle until a bit after going through the front entrance. Was pretty confused how the intended way to get to that grace as I jumped from a crate onto the railing and then down to it.

I want to fight this DLC but also want to play college football 25. I only get 2hrs a day to play and sports games like mlb, golf and football are relaxing to me. Thanks for the play through, brother. At least I can watch you play it, lol

It is nice that Miyazaki gave us a good amount of lore on what happened to Placidusax through Bayle. One the model for Bayle you can actually see two of Placidusax's torn head still clinging on from the battle they had. I'm not too sure how Bayle gained the power of the ancient dragon wings in phase 2 as he is only a drake 🤔The dragon communion shrine I believe had been set up by Placidusax to enlist help fight against the Bayle and the drakes. I did miss it on my play through but there is an alternate interaction you can have with the Dragon Priestess quest which gives you her spirit ashes instead of the weapon/dragon form.

Bayle is definitely a tough one especially as the first big boss of the DLC

Torrent might be a bit jank with its movement, but man does it help against this Ancient Dragon fight with all that lightning AoE spam. Also yeah the three drakes and Ancient Dragon are purely optional and you can just run straight past it as you did to find the grace.
