The reason why I feel that the LR-02 works where other digital drum synths may not is because it leans into the the fact that it's digital.

Nice! Up to your usual madcap standard! Just looking at the sidebar, I see your "LXR Hi-Hats - Favorite Feature" video, so I'm gonna check that now. I bought the LXR rack mounted version, I don't really like step sequencing so much, so I've been building a drum case based around a few trigger sequencers, and a lot of logic, switches, comparators, clock modifiers, lfo's, trigger delays, and a handful of filters and fx. Metropolix, Pam's, Grids, and Euclidean Circles control all the trigger sequencing, and all the utilities take care of the remaining modulation. Nothing in the drums is deliberate, it all just comes about as a result of what the rest of the system is doing. There's always a Drumbrute Impact under the desk if I want something straight down the line. Off to see your other clip now! Take care, and great work as always.
@eternityhotline5 ай бұрын
Oh cool! I’ve been slowly making something similar, a system built specifically for drums. I like having a little more control over beats, but I love that idea, and those modules you mentioned are great for just such a system. I’m also curious, what if any differences there are between lxr rack vs stand alone. Thanks so much for watching and I hope you enjoy the other vid!

thinking about buying this over the prophet 6.. what do you think?
@eternityhotline5 ай бұрын
I haven’t owned a prophet, they sound different, prophet is more tweakable. But I love six-trak, you can do so much, if you’ll only dive-in. Six-trak is more affordable so it’s a great first synth. Prophet is also very worthy of the hype!

@@eternityhotline Ha, no, that wasn't what I was thinking, but listening to it again by the measure of your comment, I suddenly heard a whole new track when I was listening for texture instead of rhythm... @eternityhotline8 ай бұрын
@@richarquis that happens to me all the time, which I like when it’s for these off the cuff studio jams but am careful to consider when it’s for something more official. But that actually happened with this very track - I had recorded the session and the next day sat down to edit and it was a completely different track. So anyway, thanks for diving in, I enjoy so much hearing another perspective on these videos!

Good lord, your music just gets crazier every time. I cannot understand why you don't have a million subscribers. It's been a while since we last chatted, and in that time, I got the Erica Synths LXR Drum. You have the external unit, I now have the rack module, and holy shit, it is the bees knees. I'm only just starting to learn it, and it is already mind blowing. Pitched kicks, ratchets on snares and claps, kit morphs, all the fx and mixing routings... It's completely insane just how good it is. I also added Morphagene, Mimeophon, Spectraphon and Qu Bit Data Bender in that time, so I have a shitload to learn. While I do, I still love the daylights out of your channel. Keep it up.

Oh man - thank you - I’m just glad for the few of those staying tuned. I’m very very grateful! By the way, tell me what you think of Data Bender - I’ve been eyeing that one for a while but I haven’t tried any qu-bit modules yet. Sounds like your system is really growing - that’s so awesome!
