The Christian religion presents a belief in the Holy Trinity, which is three Lesser Gods coming together to become a Greater God. Idolizing the Father, the Son, the Spirit, and the Holy Trinity as individually distinct superhuman entities. Revealing Christianity as a polytheistic religion masquerading as a monotheistic religion. “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." ~ Matthew 6:24 NIV. By worshiping the Holy Trinity we are serving the Church as if it were God, rather than serving God the Creator. Let me wrap it all up for you real simple like. If your religion states there is more than one God, then by definition your religion is Polytheistic.

Using Gnostic gospels to label Christianity as "pagan" is both misleading and historically flawed. The Gnostic gospels, such as the Gospel of Thomas or Gospel of Judas, were written well after the canonical Gospels-often in the 2nd to 4th centuries AD-making them far removed from the eyewitness accounts of Jesus’ life and teachings. In contrast, the canonical Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) were written within the 1st century AD, during the lifetime of those who could verify their accuracy. The early Christian church universally rejected the Gnostic texts because they contradicted the foundational teachings of Christ and the apostles, particularly regarding salvation, the nature of God, and the resurrection. Church leaders like Irenaeus and Tertullian denounced Gnostic writings as heretical, and no major Christian denomination recognizes them as Scripture. Gnosticism, with its esoteric and dualistic beliefs, is fundamentally incompatible with Christian doctrine. When someone relies on Gnostic texts to discredit Christianity, they are not only misrepresenting Christian belief but also ignoring the historical consensus of the church. As Paul advised, “Avoid foolish controversies... for they are unprofitable and worthless” (Titus 3:9). Christians should counter such claims by pointing to the historical integrity of their Scriptures and the consistent rejection of Gnostic ideas throughout Christian history.
@elwinabraham44334 күн бұрын
When someone on KZbin calls Christianity "pagan," it often reflects an attempt to generate controversy or draw attention through clickbait rather than presenting a well-researched or balanced argument. Such claims are typically designed to provoke emotional responses and drive engagement, rather than fostering genuine understanding or dialogue. By sensationalizing historical or theological nuances, these creators prioritize views over truth, ignoring the wealth of evidence that underscores Christianity’s distinct origins and beliefs. As Paul wisely counsels, “Avoid foolish controversies... for they are unprofitable and worthless” (Titus 3:9). Instead of being drawn into rage-driven rhetoric, Christians should focus on addressing misinformation with grace and clarity, always grounding their responses in Scripture and historical fact.
@elwinabraham44334 күн бұрын
Christianity being labeled as "pagan" is a misconception often based on superficial similarities or historical misunderstandings. While certain cultural elements, such as celebrating festivals or adopting symbols like the cross, may have coincided with pre-existing traditions, the core beliefs of Christianity-monotheism, salvation through Jesus Christ, and the worship of the one true God-stand in direct opposition to pagan practices. The early church fathers, such as Augustine and Tertullian, vehemently rejected paganism and worked to distinguish Christian worship from idolatry. Moreover, Scripture consistently emphasizes the unique identity of Christian faith: “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons” (1 Corinthians 10:21). Accusations of paganism often stem from a misunderstanding of Christianity’s mission to contextualize the Gospel for diverse cultures without compromising its message. Paul himself demonstrated this approach in Acts 17:22-23, where he addressed the Athenians using their altar to an "unknown god" to reveal the one true God. At the same time, he warned against syncretism, stating, “What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?” (2 Corinthians 6:15). As Paul wisely instructed, “Avoid foolish controversies... for they are unprofitable and worthless” (Titus 3:9). Christians should respond to such accusations with clarity, rooted in Scripture and historical truth, while focusing on proclaiming the Gospel rather than engaging in fruitless disputes.

“In the same way, Christ did not take on himself the glory of becoming a high priest. But God said to him, “You are my Son; today I have become your Father.” And he says in another place, “You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.” - Hebrews 5:5 The challenge comes when Melchizedek, priest of El Elyon, and Abram appear to serve the same god. ‘Melchizedek’ literally means ‘Sedeq is king’, and he is called a ‘priest of El Elyon’ and the ‘king of Salem’. All three names - Sedeq, El Elyon, and Shalem - are associated with gods of the pagan Canaanite pantheon. So even Abram did not worship YHWH, and we call them Abrahamic faiths after all. There you go!
@Aba_KoTO4 күн бұрын
@LibraryofGnosis This is just a name fallacy. Your argument equates the use of names like "El Elyon," "Melchizedek," and "Shalem" with theological identity, assuming that because these terms have connections to the Canaanite pantheon, Abram and Melchizedek were worshiping pagan gods. In reality, the Hebrew Bible frequently adopts and redefines cultural terminology to express its monotheistic theology. While "El Elyon" was a term used in Canaanite religion, the biblical text explicitly equates this title with YHWH, presenting Abram’s worship as directed toward the one true God rather than a distinct pagan deity. The name "Melchizedek," meaning "king of righteousness," and his role as the king of Salem (likely Jerusalem), are similarly repurposed within the biblical narrative to prefigure themes of divine priesthood and covenant. This linguistic borrowing reflects the cultural environment of the ancient Near East, where overlapping terms were common, but it does not imply theological equivalence. Christianity, building on Jewish monotheism, interprets these figures and titles through its own theological lens, especially in Hebrews, where Melchizedek’s priesthood becomes a typology for Christ’s eternal priesthood. Thus, your claim conflates shared terminology with shared belief systems, an error of association rather than substance.

@Aba_KoTO Not doing this again... Sigh... In some places, especially in Psalm 29, Yahweh is clearly envisioned as a storm god, something not true of El so far as scholars know (although true of his son, Ba'al Haddad). It is Yahweh who is prophesied to one day battle Leviathan the serpent, and slay the dragon in the sea in Isaiah 27:1. The slaying of the serpent in myth is a deed attributed to both Ba'al Hadad and 'Anat in the Ugaritic texts, but not to El.
@Aba_KoTO4 күн бұрын
@@LibraryofGnosis Yeah, yeah, we've been over this-YHWH borrows traits from both Ba'al and El, but Christians don’t worship Ba'al or El. Instead, they reinterpreted these deities' characteristics into one being, YHWH, and later Jesus as part of the Trinity. The storm-god traits of Ba'al and the creator-king role of El were merged and transformed into a monotheistic framework. The myths, like battling Leviathan, weren’t worship of pagan gods but repurposed imagery to emphasize YHWH’s unique authority as the one true God. It’s cultural adaptation, not continuity of polytheism.

It is even more complex than our solar calendar which only adds another leap day each four years. Any calendar would work if you adjusted it enough.

@@LibraryofGnosis You are reversing the conclusion. You should say; not sure why we would force fit a solar calendar when the moon works so well. The lunar calendar forms a smooth sine wave that coincide with the cycles of the moon. You can approximate the date simply by looking at the moon.
@LibraryofGnosis4 күн бұрын
@mymysticalside2842 The Gregorian calendar is more refined than the Julian calendar because it accounts for the fact that the solar year is slightly shorter than 365.25 days. It does this by introducing rules to skip certain leap years, which fine-tunes the calendar to more closely align with Earth's orbit around the Sun. The Julian calendar assumes a year is 365.25 days. To approximate this, it adds 1 extra day (leap day) every 4 years. However, the actual solar year is 365.2422 days, which is slightly shorter than 365.25 days. This small difference (about 11 minutes per year) adds up to a drift of 1 day every 128 years, causing calendar events like equinoxes to shift over time. The Gregorian calendar refines the leap year system by slightly adjusting how leap years are calculated A year is a leap year if it is divisible by 4, except: If the year is divisible by 100, it is not a leap year, unless it is also divisible by 400. This eliminates 3 leap years every 400 years (e.g., 1700, 1800, 1900 were not leap years, but 2000 was). The average year length becomes 365.2425 days, very close to the actual solar year of 365.2422 days. This adjustment reduces the drift to just 1 day every ~3,030 years, making it much more accurate over long periods. The Gregorian calendar's refinement keeps astronomical events (like equinoxes and solstices) in sync with calendar dates over centuries. This was crucial for maintaining consistency in agriculture, religion (e.g., Easter), and other cultural activities tied to the seasons. The Gregorian calendar strikes a balance between simplicity and precision by introducing a few exceptions to the leap year rule. These adjustments make it far more accurate over long periods without being overly complex.

The early Gnostic Christians, as a rule, were not known for engaging in violence or killing pagans. Gnostic teachings often centered on spiritual enlightenment and the liberation of the soul from the material world. These groups were typically introspective and avoided engaging in political or physical conflicts. Rather than being aggressors, Gnostic Christians were more often the victims of persecution. Orthodox Christian authorities, as they consolidated power in the Roman Empire, frequently denounced Gnostic beliefs as heretical and suppressed their texts and communities. Gnostic Christians sometimes drew inspiration from pagan philosophical traditions, such as Neoplatonism, and incorporated elements of those traditions into their teachings. They were not particularly hostile toward pagans and shared some common intellectual and spiritual interests. If violence occurred between different religious groups during this period, it was more likely to involve other factions of Christianity or state-sanctioned efforts against "heretics," including Gnostics, rather than Gnostics targeting pagans. It has an always will be the Orthodox Church that committed all the violence, even against other Christians (Gnostics just called themselves Christian).

@LibraryofGnosis18 сағат бұрын
@@ChristianHagood It was not a small percentage considering that Valentinus was THIS close to becoming the pope. The letters from Paul condemning Gnosticism were "discovered" by Bishop Iraneaus at the same time, coincidentally, he was publishing a book called "Against the Heresies", which is also a book condemning Gnosticism. It is for this reason that many people suspect that those letters from Paul were likely later forgeries by the Roman Church... Why would they do this? The reason is because in the other writings of Paul, he is using Gnostic language. For example, the idea of witnessing Christ as a vision of Light on the way to Demascus and being "taken up to the third heaven". For one, Gnostics referred to themselves as the "religion of light". For two, "Demascus" was used as a secret code word by the Essenes to refer to their base in Qumran. For three, "the third heaven" represented the third level of initiation where one experienced Gnosis and embodied the Christos. All of this suggests Paul was a Gnostic, and some even believe he was Apollonius of Tyanna, and that "Paul" was like a nickname for "Appolonius", or the "little Apollo". This would mean that the church took one of the most Gnostic people in the Bible and made him "anti-Gnostic", likely because they saw Gnosticism as a rival tradition to Roman Catholicism…

When Constantine converted to Christianity, most of the population was still pagan, not Christian. Christianity never became the official religion of the Roman Empire during his reign. Assuming Christians made up only 5% of the population at the time, even most of Constantine's cabinet were pagans. There is no source that claims the Church or the Romans ever used Christianity to control the population-this is a myth. Secondly, this claim is also incorrect. Even when Constantine held Arian views and tried to convince Athanasius to change his stance and concede to Arianism, Athanasius rejected him. Christians had been persecuted for centuries, so it doesn’t make sense that they would suddenly give up Christianity. No, the Canaanites never thought of Yahweh as a pagan god either. It was only later that they started using the names of their gods to describe the God of Yahweh. There are ancient texts that claim Yahweh was the Son of El. Looking at the Torah, Yahweh and El were, at best, the same deity, as shown in Numbers 23:8 and Numbers 12:3. This is also wrong: we have sources that indicate the Israelites were still monotheistic and had no pagan influence. At best, the pagan influences were limited to using the names of pagan gods (like Baal, which means "Lord") to refer to the God of Israel, who is Yahweh. Finally, there is no source that shows Judaism was influenced by Samaritanism. If you want me to keep going or have any other questions, please let me know. Lastly, I would like to ask the author what sources they are basing their claims on.

Very interesting video but I do have some arguments on the key points you raised... 1. Yahweh as a Canaanite God & Israel’s Polytheism... The Bible openly addresses Israel’s struggle with idolatry while consistently portraying Yahweh as distinct and supreme (Deut. 6:4). Archaeological evidence supports that monotheism emerged early among the Israelites, despite cultural pressures. Just like scientific truths remain valid even if misunderstood or misused, Yahweh’s uniqueness isn’t invalidated by human failure to follow Him. 2. Bible Borrowing from Mesopotamian Myths.... Similarities between biblical and Mesopotamian stories likely reflect shared cultural memories rather than direct borrowing. The biblical flood, for example, highlights themes of justice and covenant that are absent in other myths. Just as multiple movies about saving the world interpret a common human hope differently, the Bible uses familiar motifs to convey a unique message. 3. Christian Holidays & Pagan Festivals.... Christian holidays like Christmas and Easter align with pagan festivals because early Christians strategically reframed those dates to emphasize Jesus birth and resurrection. Historical records show these adaptations helped evangelize without adopting pagan theology. It’s like repurposing an old building for a church...what matters is the new focus, not its previous use. 4. Elohim and Plurality in Genesis... The term "Elohim" is a plural of majesty in Hebrew, signifying Yahweh’s supreme authority...not polytheism. This is evident in its consistent pairing with singular verbs in scripture. Similar to how a monarch says "we" to assert their status, the plural emphasizes Yahweh's unparalleled greatness. 5. Gnostic Serpent Interpretation... The Bible consistently depicts the serpent as a deceiver and not an enlightened hero (Gen. 3; Rev. 12:9). Gnostic interpretations flip this narrative but lack alignment with scripture’s clear themes. It’s like praising a con artist for teaching someone to "think critically".. their intent was manipulation, not enlightenment. 6. Yahweh as a Later Insertion... Yahweh’s name appears consistently in ancient texts, like the Dead Sea Scrolls, showing it wasn’t a late addition. Theological continuity across scripture affirms Yahweh’s centrality from the start. Just as a story’s first draft names the hero, adding details later doesn’t mean the hero was invented later. With that said, I’d love to hear your thoughts on these points.

@@royaltyblessed2454 The Semitic root ʾlh (Arabic ʾilāh, Aramaic ʾAlāh, ʾElāh, Hebrew ʾelōah) may be ʾl with a parasitic h, and ʾl may be an abbreviated form of ʾlh. In Ugaritic the plural form meaning "gods" is ʾilhm, equivalent to Hebrew ʾelōhîm "powers". In the Hebrew texts this word is interpreted as being semantically singular for "god" by biblical commentators. However, according to the documentary hypothesis, at least four different authors - the Jahwist (J), Elohist (E), Deuteronomist (D), and Priestly (P) sources - were responsible for editing stories from a polytheistic religion into those of a monotheistic religion. These sources were joined together at various points in time by a series of editors or "redactors". Inconsistencies that arise between monotheism and polytheism in the texts are reflective of this hypothesis. - El (diety) wikipedia

The reason Christians do not perform animal sacrifices is because the god-man sacrificed his life.

Most of the current religions wont identify the simple cyclical nature of Creation's essence (God). They fail to understand the nature of Destruction and Sustenance's part in enabling Creation. (If one struggled to answer this question "Who created the creator", there you go.. its this cyclical nature) Hence instead of an integrated religion like Hinduism... Most of them ended up being highly dual, where Creation's essense (God) is the only thing to worship and to despise the other "deities" calling them PAGAN or whatnot. Islam isn't any different on that aspect.

I haven't watch the video, fully but basically, we see Christianity and Judaism (but Judaism is closer to us funnily enough) have been corrupted. The Islamic holy book, The Qur'an, has ZERO contradictions, we have passed down the recitations of the many surahs in the Qur'an and the Qur'an even has a challenge for anyone that isn't Muslim, make a surah that is like the Qur'an, it has to have meaning, must be poetic and must sound beautiful, no one has succeeded, not even the Arab pagan poets couldn't succeed. Meanwhile, the Bible has contradictions, even it minor it immediately disqualifies it as a book sent by God because God is perfect, can easily be recreated and has never passed down on how to recite their Bible, they have to relay on Greek manuscripts written by anonymous people and etc... The Qur'an has also predicted many things, like the Romans (Byzantines) defeating the Persians, which was made when the Byzantines were losing against the Persians, how the Bedouins of Arabia, who mind you were barefooted and were nomadic would make and compete to make the tallest building, a predicted the Fall of Constantinople by the Muslim Ottomans and etc...
