Hey! Great adventure and nice video! I was wondering if the bike could climb steep slopes with the throttle only, around 10º incline. Thank you!
@attainableadventure
@attainableadventure 3 ай бұрын
@@VincentVillon-n1l thank you! The bike does well at 5% incline but at 10 you’re better off pedaling at least a little bit. I’ve got an 8-9% incline in my neighborhood that I can make it up on throttle only but it uses a ton of battery. Pedaling helps a lot. Also, On MTB trails. I have more confidence when pedaling when going up steep climbs. Not that the bike won’t make it up on throttle alone, I just feel more in control pedaling

Valiant attempt, but sadly, not all journeys work-out the way you'd hoped. The scenery there all looks very "English", and even the weather there is the same. Here in England, we always know when it's Summer because the rain is warmer. 😅 Incidentally, Rob's saddle does look way too low to me...

@@fosterkidzzz I use a mountain bike front rack system. It puts loops around the front forks and attaches to that upper hoop that goes over the wheel. Hey. I might be a bit late to this party, but is there any chance I could get some information on how you pack the bike for air travel? Do you box or bag it? Is it a checked bag or oversized? And how much does all that weigh and cost to fly with?
@attainableadventure

You’re not late at all. I did it the cheap but more frustrating way. I just used Voile straps to hold it together and carried it through the airport. They gate checked the bike and I picked it up from the gate when we landed. It didn’t cost anything extra and I felt that it was the safest cheap option. It’s not the lightest bike at about 35lbs, but it wasn’t terrible to carry it around. I will likely buy a cheaper bike bag next time I fly with it just for a little added protection. You don’t want anything to bulky since you’ll have to pack it on the bike once you get there. Hope this helps!

@@riverbankmactavishmcghee4573 you’ll be super happy with the bike for the price. The stock shock is 170mm, I just picked up a cheaper shock that was sprung for my weight. Just google ‘MTB spring calculator’ and enter your weight and shock length. Then find a shock that fits your budget on Amazon with the correct spring weight. I went with one that has rebound dampening as well. It was about $70. For the brakes I went with a 4 piston hydraulic MTB option. 2 pistons are a bit cheaper but I wanted the added stopping power since I’m fairly heavy and so is the bike. The 4 piston option goes for around $100 and is fairly easy to swap out the stock ones. It’s worth mentioning, the stock brakes shut down the motor when you pull on them. That feature will not work with aftermarket brakes. It just means once you pull the brakes, it takes a second or two for the motor to stop. It’s not too bad though

I think this is my favorite video on this bike so far. I got mine late May, and I love it, it's just about the best money I've ever spent. I enjoyed it so much, I got one for my little brother, and he's digging it. I'm likely going to hit the 2,000 mile mark this week. For me, this is my daily commuter, and I use it for shopping, getting to events around town, and bike camping, about 8 trips so far this season. I haul my gear on a small trailer, but I'd Love to get setup with the type of gear carrying rig you have. The only change I've done to mine so far is replacing the mechanical brakes with hydraulic brakes, and it makes if feel like a new bike. I have a few questions if I may. 1. What did you do with the rear shock? I come in at about 250 pounds, and I'd love to hear what you did. 2. Where did you get your 4 amp charger? I have 2 extra batteries that I take with me bike camping, and having a faster charger would be epic. I haven't found one that works yet.

Rear shock setup- I went with a preload and rebound adjustable 170mm shock with a 650lb spring. I entered my weight and shock stroke into a calculator online and it said 650lb is ideal. I’ve been super happy with it so far. I’ve even been rocking it on the locks mountain bike trial pretty regularly. 4 amp charger - i picked this one up from Amazon as well. @@attainableadventureyoo my guy, with pedal assisting it and at 17mph, would you get 30-35-40 miles out of it?
@attainableadventure
@attainableadventure Жыл бұрын
@@michielroskam3877 doubtful. So far at power level 2, which is about 15-17mph, I can average around 30 miles on fairly flat terrain. On power level 1, about 10-12mph, you might be able to stretch it to 40 miles with heavy pedaling. I did push 20mph pedaling about 70% of the way on flat terrain at power level 3 but the battery was fully dead at 23 miles.

I went with this one. It’s a snug fit but I haven’t seen any issues over the last 150 miles. I have these small 7 liter roll top panniers that I use with it. Rhinowalk Bike Pannier Bag 7L... www.amazon.com/dp/B09KRLQKKF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Shiiii if it can go crazy through that mud and still work after? That bike fuckin handlesss I can’t wait to get my replacement tire in the mail. It sadly came broken with a rear tire broken , the rim on the side bed was broken so I cannot ride it until I get my replacement, I’ve just been watching jensno x50 riding videos while I wait cause I’m so excited. Can’t wait for your next jensno post

Thanks man! This bike has exceeded all expectations. I did have the throttle seize up after all that mud but the peddle assist still works fine. I reached out to the distributor and they’re sending a replacement already. I’ve been extremely happy with the support side even with its limited availability in the states. Good luck on getting yours repaired and on the road!

@@attainableadventure how does it handle on trails? Does it handle well going on trails?
@attainableadventure
@attainableadventure Жыл бұрын
@@MoppyPoppy I thought it did okay but the rear wasn’t sprung for my weight (240lbs). Once I swapped out the rear shock and put on the hydraulic brakes I thought it did pretty darn well. It really comes down to how comfortable you are on single track though. I’ve taken cross bikes on MTB trails along with my DR650. I’ll take it to the MTB park once the new throttle gets here and put a video up afterwards.

I haven’t ran it on only throttle yet but I got about 20mi on power level 3 before it died. I’d say I peddled about 50% of the time but wasn’t going hard at all. I averaged 20mph on that ride as well

Fwiw, I did 25mi yesterday averaging 12.5mph and only ran the battery down to 2/3 power. That was pedaling the whole time on power level 1 and 2
