Good points. I just joined the Sigma FP family and loving it. I am doing comparison with my Sony and each has its strengths. I wish Sigma can be better in some departments though.... but let's understand that it's a 5 year old camera. haha

Also, be aware that the FP is possibly the worlds most hated camera. Nobody, and I mean not one single person, will hire you if they know you're using an FP. If you aren't concerned with the best video quality and just want to follow the herd, buy a Sony.

In good lighting conditions the Fp can produce some really special footage, and 4K CDNG is an absolute delight to colour grade - even if the file sizes are just ludicrously huge! I also use it as my go-to camera for photography. I just got the EVF-11 and it's just a great carry camera for me to try out different lenses. For more professional stuff it works really well with the Lumix S 1.8 primes (and the zooms) which were designed with videographers in mind.

I watched all your videos and liked them thank you very much for the review you did exactly the setup I was wondering about and I have a few questions for you I have an x-s20 and I plan to shoot short films and I shoot alone. I am new to this and I want to improve myself in manual focus. I am seriously undecided between siriu nightwalker and siriu sniper because the sniper series has autofocus. Since I shoot alone, autofocus sometimes works. I plan to buy it with an anamorphic adapter. However, there are some parts that I am curious about 1. Is the ring on the anamorphic adapter the focus ring? If it is a focus ring, will the focus ring of the lens be completely invalid and we have to do the focus operation from the adapter? 2. Is the focus ring of the anamorphic adapter the same as cine lenses? I want to attach a follow focus, can I attach it directly to the adapter? 3. Does autofocus get disabled when we use an anamorphic adapter? If not, if I buy a siriu sniper + adapter instead of a siriu nightwalker + adapter, will it make more sense to have a focus ring (on the anamorphic adapter) where I can attach both auto focus and follow focus? Thanks in advance for your answer.
@JaymesMedia2 ай бұрын
Thank you so much. Sorry for the late reply. Yes the ring on the anamorphic adapter is the focus ring once adapted to another lens. You must set your taken lens to infinity focus. This way, you’ll be able to focus correctly with the adapter. You can attach a follow focus to the anamorphic adapter. The ring is near identical. Yea autofocus gets disabled. You will have to rely on manual focus unless you have a LiDAR system.

@sofasogood71643 ай бұрын
Poor you... You think that 1 or 2 extra stops of dynamic range will make you a better filmmaker? That is cute. Most of if not all high end pro-sumer cinema cameras top at 12-12 and a half usable stops and many cheat the test by using heavy internal noise reduction. Don't worry, you'll eventually learn how to correctly expose and use light and shadow as tools to tell a story without the need to obsess over specs.

@ibancorominas34463 ай бұрын
The FP have the same usable dynamic range that any major camera, similar to any major brand but with a RAW output, that means that theres's no image processing. People get confused with massive amounts of noise reduction in some "14 stops of dynamic range cameras" that is not usable at all, it's amazing what can you recover on what it looks like a blown out highlights, open resolve, transform to BM colorspace click recovery highlights and enjoy. The 1080p to a SD card it's also really good, but the 12 bits 4k it's just outstanding. Just try it for yourself..... Also has the El Zone mode wich is 200 times better than false color and you can nail your exposure acuretly any single time, wich is far more important than your camera having 13 or 14 stops of fake dynamic range.
