I have loved watching your journey!! That was my Grandpa and Grandma's house. Many great memories were made there and it looks like you will make many more! My Grandma passed in 1973 and Grandpa later. The days we cleaned out the house were certainly not as dramatic as yours, we laughed and cried and remembered. Honest, it was clean when we left!!! I need to drive by and smile. Congrats on those sweet babies. Grandma's kitchen was in the back, tiny, but full of great cooking. Her dining room was where your kitchen is now. She was legally blind, but still managed to make a quilt for our daughter, her first Great Grandbaby. It is a cherished baby quilt, fifty-two years later. So many stories have been brought to mind. Thank you so much for sharing.

If you ever decide to do floors again, here's a few things I've learned from the pros: 1) Never do two consecutive passes in the same direction 2) Start with a diagonal pass to flatten off the floors. If they're not flat after one pass, go diagonally perpendicular to the first pass. Only the last pass goes along the grain 3) If you can choose, get a sander that uses belts rather than sheets of sandpaper, much easier to use 4) Heavy sanders give much better results than lightweight ones but they're extremely exhausting to use.
