I have made vanilla with vodka before, but I think I'll get a new bottle if I do it again! 😂 we used that bottle of vodka to make black walnut stain for our trim! ☺

I grew up on a farm with dozens of black walnut trees and remember my Gramps used an antique corn sheller to remove the husks. It was a hand cranked one that he had hooked up to foot pedals. It worked really good and greatly sped up the drying process so they could be shelled sooner. Just something to think about. Know you still have some old stuff around, maybe a corn sheller somewhere?
