Really love your videos and thank you for making them!! I would like to know what difference makes the position of the fim, for the direction or the speed of the boat.

Excellent video - unfortunately the links for (say) IALA buoyage or COLREGS on the video aren't live hyperlinks - could they be posted in the notes accompanying the video?

whats a storm for a rower is not nessarily a storm for a small yacht. Can a rower row in a force 4 plus unlikely unless down wind and if the windis going in the wrong direction your likely to deploy the sea anchor.
@watrbird

Hi Francis this video taken a few hours before a F11... not sure even a small yacht would want to be out in the mid Atlantic in this. ;-)

Hi - I used a flat lens GoPro and wedged it into the coral. I swam down and placed the camera and then moved off so Nemo and his family would come out. If you look you might see me swimming in the background!

You really need a flat glass lens for underwater shots. Loads available for divers.

As a Thames boy, one of the things I love about this video is that from 5:00 to 5:30 you can really hear the noise from the clubhouse balcony. There were a big bunch of us shouting and it was an emotional day for all concerned. Great race in a tricky headwind and virtually no stream (though Hannah did a good job to catch what little of it there was). The girls done good!

That was an amazing year for Thames at the Women's Head. In addition to the first eight winning, the second eight came 4th and won the Senior 1 pennant (and was the first crew home with no national team members on board); the fourth eight (my crew!) came 9th and won the Senior 2 pennant and the third eight came 15th (after time penalty - would have come 10th without it) and came second in the Senior 2 pennant. Happy days!

I love this. The pain is what gets me up in the morning thinking about my turn for the full tideway course in 10 days time. I have to say, the video is far better than the ones I take as well. I took one the day after this for Hammersmith Head in miserable conditions using a pair of mobile eyewear recorder sunglasses. I agree as well, the full video without music would be brilliant.

Interesting seeing it from a different perspective and seeing the traffic/carnage up ahead. What are the wires on Stroke's rigger? Is it something to do with the camera or some data gathering from the gate?

Dear guys Filmed using a Gopro on Hannah's head. Yes there is the full 20 minutes of the Race but I would need to get permission from the crew. Thanks for the interest Guin

Hi Bill - I used 2 gopro cameras. Filming angles came from a mixture of headshots, rigger mount and a suction cup which I broke. I am still struggling to get good underwater shots. I liked the retro effect in one of the training clips (1:44) , the poor evening light brought some erie movement to the whole stoke. Thanks for the questions.
