These bikes are great, I had the 72 1200 with cycle shak slip ONS and it sounded loud and proud. Sportsters are friggin awesome

anyone can always get forward controls put on thier bike if they feel it's too cramped.mid controls are common but they can be swapped.

I know this is super old, but it's probably a peanut tank(small) which is pretty standard for 1200's and 883's from Harley.

Any HD with mid controls will work well for you. My 2006 Dyna Super Glide had a very low saddle and mid controls. I rode it for years! While there is nothing wrong with a sporty, don't feel limited to one.
