i got my nightster in april.. its my first bike.. didnt even have my permit yet... I love it.. i have my license now that i took the msf course last week... i recommend you take that course especially if you have 0 experience on a motorcycle... even if you dont learn much you will have some fun and its an easy way to get your motorcycle endorsement

anyone can always get forward controls put on thier bike if they feel it's too cramped.mid controls are common but they can be swapped.

Any HD with mid controls will work well for you. My 2006 Dyna Super Glide had a very low saddle and mid controls. I rode it for years! While there is nothing wrong with a sporty, don't feel limited to one.

But if you get a scooter I like them zuma 125 if you want a cheap reliable one or that Suzuki 650 one if you want big power. I know it's been 7 years so I'm sure you probably already picked a scoot
