"No budget build".....c'mon who are you kidding? There's a budget there alright. Put a little more milk in your cereal. Aluminum Dart block, Bryant crankshaft, BME(Bill Miller) Aluminum rods, and a roller bearing cam tunnel are "no budget build" kind of parts. The crank and rods are more than the Ohio 434.....

Hey man, don’t post an engine build without cam specs. My 427 has 220 AFR ported heads with a billet core roller cam 254/260 @ .50 .680 lift on a 110* lsa. Made 650 hp at 6700 rpm Congratulations on being a total tool!!!

My 427 uses the Dart Pro-1 215 heads. I will eventually do some upgrades. It's a fine street engine right now. The cam is a Howards hyd roller PN 110275-10 at .050 241/247 duration. advertised lift is .545/.565 it's making 550ph and 545lbft. I believe the compression is 10.5:1.

@MAJORMAN299 It comes down to what purpose you build the engine for. 650hp isn't weak for a N/A engine. My engine is making 550hp N/A. Add boost and you can easily double that number. Remove the supercharger off a Hellcat and see how weak that engine becomes.

My 10.7 to 1 399ci. has Brodix 266cc 18* C-Series cnc/hand ported 404cfm, BBC journal solid roller 260/[email protected], 679/668.....110 lsa. 641 hp.@6400 and 560 ft lbs.@5700 on 91 pump.

.025" COLD, .030" HOT.... Usually best to go tighter on Alloy heads, they get hot and open to close to correct lash...

I notice your cars are rock solid on the trans-brake and they hold instantly without pumping the brake like a workout routine - lol What trans brake make/model do you use and recommend? Is your Erson 434 cam a shelf cam? Do you have a part number for it? What brand of torque converters do you like? Please forgive all the questions, but I appreciate your opinion and wisdom gained from a successful multi-car racing program. Thanks and God Bless from Michigan.

@@wheelspin1000 We just use a Pro Brake from TCI. The Cam is special the AFR has us running with the heads. We run Neil Chance Converters in everything we have. Thank you for the support!

@@RoyFortheWin We had a manual center console and marked it out then took the plate that the shift sits in and used it as a template to make the correct cut

Unless you got a motor pushing 400+ hp headers just add more headache then it's worth on thirdgens it's so tight

Heads are too small. Maybe 620HP at 7000rpm - despite you didnt share the cam details. Good Ported 245 AFRs, with a good matched intake makes 670hp 7500rpm.

I don't think the brake master cylinder is different but you do have to install a slave cylinder not a master cylinder...

i am about to do the same thing with my 73 pinto .. it has a 4.3 with turbo 350 .. i have a trans from a v8 camaro with flywheel and everything ,, are the flywheels the same size and same tooth count ,,

On these blocks with those studs HELL YEAH. We call em "som-er studs".....some er here some er there. They rely on the threads to align themselves. In a better block with better architecture and studs, like the Carrol Shelby aluminum blocks.....the thread engagement is at the bottom of the water jacket and the studs center up with the bull nose tip at the bottom of the thread bore. All perfectly straight and the cylinder head glides right on.
