All the spares I'm looking at online only have 2 pipes. What is the purpose of the 3 pipes please? I guess 1 is for air, and 1 for fuel but struggling to see what the third is for...

I think on some models it has another breather pipe going to the fuel tank. But if yous just has 2 just blovm the other one off

Intercooler,this is a inlet manifold with a water heater to warm the air, an intercooler has cold air passing tru it ,this has hot coolant and inlet air passing it on way to cylinders ,it's more for heating than cooling

Great video, thanks a lot! Did this job last summer on a 4x4 1.6tdi cr and on a 4x4 2.0tdi cr. Just a tip for anyone who will do it at home, remove the subframe. Buy and use VW guiding pins/bolts for the subframe bolts and you don't have to do a wheel alignment afterwards. But do NOT move the steering wheel at all (strap it so it wont move). When subframe is removed completely, you have a ton of space and probably wont take any longer time either. Helps a lot and you don't need assistant either. Doing this job without guiding pins will probably mean a wheel alignment job when finished. Removing the subframe is key to this job. Done it a couple of times now, and it is so fast to remove it that it actually is done in maybe 30-45min. I would guess that fiddling without subframe removal will take longer time than that 😊

You can but be careful some cars when you turn ignition off the handbrake comes on. Just be careful

A question: how do you prevent the engine from starting when you are in the final stage, and you want to get oil primed up to the oil lubrication pipe? Great video, cant thank you enough. I have similar probs with 2011 yaris. Ignition off and flashing speedo and temp light. Nice video at least I can open and replace mine if it's the speedo unit
