I saw the inevitable failure before rdr2 was even announced. While all the rumors “oh the next game is either rdr2 or bully 2 but rdr 2 is more likely” i remember telling friends how i thought the story would be a banger, but the online is so trapped into its timeline that they can only have a few separate types of thing. I get that people like houses but personally i have maybe spent 2 hours total inside my apartment in gta. Theyre just fancy garages. The shine shack is cool and you sit there and listen to the music and its a good vibe. Realistically they couldve just rebuilt the MC from gtao into rdo. Supply people and they can make counterfeit goods, liquors, and hemp/other drugs. Remake the special cargo and vehicle warehouses to where you steal valuable items and wagons to hold and create collections for collectors to buy. Thats just reskinned gtao. But it couldve padded out 2 major updates so maybe a generous 15 months of content. As for unique things I think having a cattle wrangling sale where you need 2-3 people moving herds or you can buy herd dogs to make it easier. You can herd them to 1 of 3 city auctions. Somewhere in armadillo or blackwater, valentine and then maybe saint D or annesburg. Scattered ranches around the map. Next thing couldve been a stable that you go out and break horses and if you use that horse it levels up, if it dies its skill could drop so you need to take care of the animal.(griefing could count as towards this but maybe in a less amount) Eventually you can sell max leveled horses that youve trained. It would be a way to gain passive but still active income. The real way to think of ideas is “how is t2 going to profit?” Making the jobs cost gold is the first step but even beyond that. They cant expect you to pay out of pocket for each dlc. I think 20g per role is generally fair. Dont consider the die hard players with 1000s of gold thatve been playing, think of the 1000s of new or returning players that wont have that much and need to grind and be incentivized to buy gold. Thats where that stupid french currency had issues. Capitale or wtvr? Punish everyone bc maybe 5k players that grinded hardcore for months in the downtime had 100000s of dollars. Never mind them. Make it cost like $250 for a low tier mission that pays out $200 and plenty of bodies to loot for trinkets with a mixed value. Enough to be worthwhile. Its not difficult, idk too much rambling now especially on a 2 month old vid

They give up in the first month or two when gold bar sales didn't meet expectations. The hunting nerfs, economy changes, and finally the daily gold nerf and just removing animals completely. Everything was half assed once they saw players were easily going to be able to grind for everything.

The bundles for gold range from $5-$100 real world dollars, with roles costing more than what you get for $5 - those are just transactions, there’s nothing micro about it

Could have become a grind-heavy western MMO with some minor changes. Make heists take multiple phases that utilize the side gameplay like hunting turning into tracking, tie collecting herbs into making explosives, getting intel from card games.

Roleplay servers on RedM are the life support keeping this game alive, there's some good communities there that allow you to enjoy the experience in a whole new context.

Red dead online is so much fun with a friend. Once you level up every role, the game takes a huge halt.

Played online day one with my friend. The online economy was so broken we couldnt afford anything, not even bullets. We got to the point where he'd have to lasso enemies, drag them to us, then id run out, stab them, loot the one or two bullets they had on then, rinse and repeat. Played for one day after that and then never again

even with the stupid management I was still having fun until they nerfed gold daily farming, I had a long streak and could buy most things I wanted, it was an horrible system too, login every single day to keep the streak and doing the same boring objectives for minimal amounts of gold, but they needed to nerf it anyway and kill all the joy left in playing it

All they would've needed to do was add rdr1 and undead nightmare to make more silly additions to multiplayer

Whats crazy is the amount of quality of life features they've added to GTA online these past few years, yet they never bothered to do any of them for Red dead online.

One interesting note about the pvp and pve server is that it's most likely a conscious decision to not have them due to it increasing the time to grind in there games. Some missions in GTA online are essentially a dinner bell for griefers where players could lose millions essentially. Having pve only would make the game less tedious, meaning you grind less lowering players and gameplay longevity.

i notice that a lot of these jamster ringtones (especially the earlier ones) have the song start out or end off with like a rendition of the main melody performed with a beepy nokia-like synth i guess either as like a bait and switch thing or to remind you that at the end of the day it's still a ringtone

There were a couple of “Crazy Frog” video games, which were both racing games and weren’t very good from what I understand. There were also plans to make a “Crazy Frog” movie, which never happened obviously. That would’ve been something, I don’t know if it would’ve been any good (I doubt it) but it would’ve been an interesting curiosity to witness.

It’s still fun. But given how good the single player is, there is certainly a lot to be desired.
