How does he get such clarity out of his guitar and amp? I can hear every individual string resonating. It sounds great. I cannot duplicate it on my gear. Mine sounds more sludgy, even though I've dialed the gain back to the lowest setting possible.

So as a person who has never used one of these, let me ask. This guitar plugged into that interface which is hooked up to the MacBook, is giving you that sound? Then you’re recording a track then, yougo back and play the recording from the MacBook and you are recordimg another track playing to first. The sound is coming from the speakers obviously, but are the speakers hooked up to the interface or the MacBook. I honestly don’t understand how you get the sound from from the different amps which you’re calling plugins…I’m just not understanding…
@SixStringAlliance8 күн бұрын
Hi Micheal. I’m using the Blackstar software amp suite which come with this interface. You can use the stand alone version which you open like an app on your Mac, and simply use the Polar 2 interface as a way of getting your sound into the Mac. To hear it either hookup powered monitor speakers to the speaker outputs of the Polar 2 or simply plugin speakers. The way I’m running it is I’m opening the Blackstar amp software within my recording software. I run Cubase. I made the track in my studio, although you could import any backing track. I then created a track and selected the Blackstar amp software and recorded. That’s the process really broken down. Maybe it would be a good idea to watch some basic tutorials or using a DAW, (recording software) and an interface. Maybe I should back a video on the basics! Hopefully this helps. If you want to have a setup and choose Polar 2 which is a great interface, it comes with the software amp and some basic music software. I’m not sure if it includes a DAW, but you could use something as basic as Garage band. I hope this helps.

Absolutely this helped. I appreciate your time in responding and the information. I’m going to give this a try. I’m from the old school and started playing when I was about 13 in 1969. Played in lots of bands in high school and college too. I was used to plugging my Strat into a Marshal and a couple of pedals, cranking it and rockin…now all these years later all this new technology just feels so strange..! Thanks again my friend…!

Lovely demo Jamie! How does this pedal compare to the EVH 5150 OD pedal? I'm gassing so hard right now, but not sure if it's worth it if I already have the EVH pedal. I love the clarity of this pedal though!
@SixStringAlliance8 күн бұрын
It’s a great pedal, although I’ve not done an A/B between them. Put it this way, I have 2 EVH 5150 pedals so that’s my personal preference. The boost and gate on the 5150 I feel make it better value. But the SLO pedal is great, and does its thing.

@@cobowe Yes, I would imagine it would as I’ve ran into the IK Multimedia Axe I/O with KAT strap boosters, the same ones Brian May uses, and that worked fine. The only issue I had was clipping, it took some adjustments to get the level set, which won’t happen with this interface.

Best version yet. Used to play this in the early eighties but it was difficult getting the parts off a vinyl record. No Lizzie tabs around those days. No slow down software. You spent 75% of your practise time trying to copy the parts best you could by moving your record back and forth and damaging both the needle and the record..

I had the previous model with the oval pickup cavity. I hated the neck, it said "slim c" or something on the website but it was really chunky and wide towards the higher frets. What bothered me the most were the "shoulders" of the neck profile, it made it almost impossible to have any control over the strings on the upper frets. Looked pretty cool though.

The Dm7 you refer to is also F 1st inversion .
@SixStringAllianceАй бұрын
No it’s not. An F major does not have the note of D in it. And F major is 1st F, 3rd A, 5th C, and Dm7 is 1 D, b3 F, 5th A, b7 C.. The F major triad is a 1st inversion of Dm7. A 1st inversion of F major would be A:C,F.
@OliverSutton1962Ай бұрын
@@SixStringAlliance The F major triad is the chord I was referring to and as you point out I was correct.
@SixStringAllianceАй бұрын
@@OliverSutton1962 you said Dm7 is the same as an F 1st inversion which is isn’t. An F major chord and its respective inversions do not contain a D. How ever a 1st inversion of a Dm7 chord contains an F major triad. The common mistake with this song, which is the mistake I made in my original tab book is to play an F major chord, which although harmonically is an inversion of the Dm7, they clearly include the D in the bass of the chord, as well as making use of close voice leading from the D major chord to the Dm7, not shifting up to an F major. Harmonically yes the same notes but not the same context. But again you said Dm7 is the same as the F 1st inversion which it isn’t, F major is the same as the 1st inversion of Dm7, they’re two very different things. F major 1st inversion, A,C,F; Dm7 1st inversion F,A,C,D. The chord in this song against the F bass would be written Dm7/F which is a fist inversion of Dm7, not F/A which is an F major 1st inversion. Maybe you’ve got your terminology mixed up in your originally post.

Great review. I recall you from another company giving Van Halen lessons!....Anyway, I have a quick question for you. Do you think if you added a Overdrive pedal going into the amp and say, a 7-band EQ pedal in the FX loop you would hear less and less differences?....Reason I am asking is I have been offered a deal on the Diezal, but the shop may throw in the Friedman as an extra part of the deal.....worth it? Or are they basically the same 30 Watt head with slightly different EQ tone stacks and OD section's?....Difference that could be mitigated with a couple of pedals? Thanks for any response. Cheers!

Yeah that company is Lick Library who I’ve worked for since 1997. Six String Alliance is my own thing. Basically there is similarities between some of them. I didn’t really rate the Diezel one. The Friedman is good, but the Soldano is great. I’d try and get one of those
