It look like 15/20% quite. It is possible to make it 70/80% quite? It's depends on number of the holes? Or the size of them? I heard the more holes you make more quite it becomes that is sound strange...

The later model doesn't have switchable ABS, but to make up for that it is much less prone to stalling. I bought mine for commuting, 95% on road, and the occasional dirt track; it works really well for me. I'm seriously considering taking it touring in Europe (from England) next summer. For that kind of adventure biking it is fine. It is a very easy bike to ride, not fast, but forgiving.

I'm now on my second SE, and loving it. The only way to ride them in the technical stuff is to stand up on those pegs and throw your weight, and the bike's, around. Once you get used to the extra mass, this technique lets you ride it like a dirt bike. Til you tip over, at least. Lifting them up alone never gets easier, but there are tricks to that, too.

Oh dude, you are the failure in all this, total noobish behaviour. You just had no experience when you bought this 250 bike and were disappointed when you discovered it is actually a 250? When you buy a 2WD car, will you mourn that it isn`t 4WD? Then you tried to squeeze some more power out of it. But you didn`t even check the basics. You talk about exhaust and electronics but you don`t mention if you have a 120/80 or 120/90 (what will cost you ~6% torque). And what did you do about the sprockets? You don`t even mention this. The WR is just what it is. Such a handy, reliable and durable machine, that carries you anywhere. Streetlegal, lightweight. Around the world with ease. I have a few bigger bikes but always prefer the WR when it gets dirty. Sure I wish a 350-400ccm engine, no dought! But there was no alternative for streetlegal bikes that time, since Suzuki has let DRZ400 die. I put in another (way harder) rear spring and gave it a bigger tank from IMS and highered the seat what was too low for me. Since Suzuki launched the DRZ400 follow up, sure this should be superior and substitute the WR250R. In 2008, the WR was the king of 250 streetlegal Japanbikes.

Thank you for your video and mentioning something usually no one cares to report on. Despite my appreciation for loud exhausts I don't want to harass the public and damage my hearing. Do you mind letting me know if you had ringing in your ears using ear plugs? I looking for buying an aftermarket slip on for my GasGas SM 700 and now thinking about hearing loss twice. Thank you in advance

Chance that either of you have seen it or know who it is? I was in a rental, but missing my ‘84 3.2! Would have been a perfect drive!

Just a tip - we usually make such measurements with A-weighting on (so it responds a lot like our ears.) I suspect your reductions seem greater in number than it sounds because it was measured in dB not dBA.

Yep, realizing how light my 22 FE 501 was, I went further and set it up for hard enduro. With all the crap removed it weighed 106.6kg. They have achieved a very low center of gravity, particularly the 'lowered' 21-23 models. People need to ride a well set up bike to believe it. Oh, and buyers, don't be put off by the 'inertia' crap...one can sling these in and out of sharp corners as good as most could wish for!!

Thank you kindly for sharing this. I had mounted a little stubby windshield, and 3d printed a little spacer to mount it to. But I will be reconfiguring, as it wasn't upright enough. I will see if I can incorporate some elements from your design, as I want to go with a little bit bigger diy windshield. I had printed a small box to hold my electronics and connections. Zip tied it above the wiring harness. I had also cut out some of the number plate to fit the box. But with a more upright windshield that was likely not necessary. But something died recently (while powering up my cheapo heated grips), so now is time for a rebuild. My gps was powered from this box, via a delay off relay. It held the power for 10 minutes, so It wouldn't loose the gps signal when I stalled, or stopped for gas. The heated grips were switched independently. Cheers.

Great tips. I have motion pro tire leavers cable tied to frame like your levers. Spare tube(s) between bashplate and engine. Patches for tube under the seat. All tools inside that little WR250R toolbox with some cable ties. Gorilla tape, small bottle of visor cleaner, and small microfiber towel in the air box (all inside a little waterproof plastic bag).
