I’d always do a full turn out after every few in. Broken too many taps by just brute forcing it lol
@Blacksmith-Joe5 ай бұрын
I agree, however with the tapper taps the first few millimetres of mine are almost void of thread so I dont get any bite on the thread till I've got a few decent turns

I am curious what software you used. I am planning to design something similar, and usually I use blender, but this seems like CAD software might be better. Thank you for sharing what you did. its inspirational.

Hello Kevan, I don't yet, I moved house a year ago and I have only just set in up again and am playing about with the way the pendulum connects to improve reliability. Once it's a finished article I will post it on thingyverse. Merry Christmas!

Did you weld the inside joints? I didn’t see it and was wondering if there a reason why? Thanks
@Blacksmith-Joe3 жыл бұрын
For some things like that is plenty strong enough not to weld the inside. Welding the inside would be a proper pain in the arse to grind and file back go be nice and clean. Not impossible just a pain and unnecessary

Welding, 3D printing , it is very much the same, I have done a lot of both
