Name of white rods pleasee🙏🙏
@OutdoorswithChrisandBecky4 ай бұрын
The white rod is just a #Berkley Big Game 7' rod. you can find them at Walmart for around $25. You don't have to buy the most expensive rods to go snag some big fish. Good Luck!
Buffs and commons, looks like you found a honey hole. Every time I've fished carp on the KY River all i catch is turtles😂.

the trick is to get some good size circle hooks and some 4 oz weights and after snagging a carp cut it up for bait and then use it to catch some monster catfish there.

They are edible and very good to eat. Most don't eat them due to the Y bones making them harder to clean, but I've eaten them and they are terrific

Michael we just went down last weekend and took our kayak and canoe to a camp spot for a quick weekend fishing trip (video coming soon…lol) and we caught a lot of fish. Becky tied her PB for mirror carp 37 lbs and I got my PB mirror 27 lbs. it would be hard for me to choose a better time to go. I’d say if you can go, go! We love it there. Good luck! Let us know how you do.

Thanks for the video. I got family in Ohio and I live in nc and we are wanting to meet and have a family reunion of sorts, its been 10 +years and fish the damn. They want to rent a cabin but I like camping. I was wondering if there is any disbursed, tent/hammock camping around there?
@OutdoorswithChrisandBecky2 жыл бұрын
I'm actually not sure. They have a campground "Kendall" below the dam of lake cumberland and they have " Lake Cumberland State Park" which has campsites just above the dam on lake cumberland. I am pretty sure there are islands on the cumberland river that you can camp on if you are wanting to kayak or canoe but I'd check with the KDFW to make sure it's ok. We are actually planning a kayak camping trip on the green river soon. Good luck!

Used to stay up til 3 in the morning watching them and then I would sleep on a piece of plywood on the rocks😂 We quit camping a lot and I’ve only got to snag once now that I’ve grown up but we are gonna start doing it again this summer.

@OutdoorswithChrisandBecky3 жыл бұрын
There’s no shower/bathhouse, so be aware of that. Also make sure you don’t forget anything, it’s a long winding road back there so you can’t just run to store real quick. Boat ramp is right in the campground so if you take a boat it’s awesome. There’s plenty of spots to fish from the bank if you don’t have a boat and still would like to fish. Beautiful views. Nice little fishing docks. Enjoy! We are jealous. Lol

@OutdoorswithChrisandBecky3 жыл бұрын
The lower the water level the better. You can only snag below Ky Dam from January - May (I think you should check to be sure) during the day. June-December is nighttime snagging only, which isn’t bad in the summer. We’ve been a few times in the spring and the water has been high. Talking to locals there, they say that when the water is lower it’s a lot better. We’ve just never been lucky enough to to catch the water perfect.

No bait at all. We are snagging them. It’s just a huge treble hook with a 3 ounce weight below it. You just throw and pull.
@therickpound3 жыл бұрын
Why do you put them back, thought they were invasive & destroying your habitat?
@OutdoorswithChrisandBecky3 жыл бұрын
We don’t put them back. The KDFW won’t let you if you wanted to. We kill them and put them back in for the catfish or whatever to eat. I’ve actually stated keeping some to eat myself. They are excellent smoked. You just have to pull the bones out.
