Oh man! Memories! I grew up in Alma. Council Grove up through Marysville was my stomping grounds! Broke many suspension parts on my old Pinto running though those areas! Traveled different roads Topeka to Council Grove all dirt in my Gladiator Nov of 22... Now I gotta get back again!

I have not seen the Antelope Hills since the early 90's when we buried our grandmother in Arnett. My father came from that part of the state obviously and grew up at Pack Saddle on a ranch on the Canadian River. I myself was born in Cheyenne. There's a small museum in Cheyenne that my grandfather donated all the artifacts he found along the river over the years. Anyway, good to see some of the area. I should go out there and see it again.

@@WestOkOverland I believe its called The Black Kettle museum after the Chief. It was built sometime in the 70's IIRC.

That’s totally what I thought, until I went there for the first time! Spent some time recently down in cimmaron national grasslands as well. There’s certainly more to Kansas to explore, kinda reminds me of Oklahoma, if you know where to look, lots of good stuff.

Always enjoy your videos. On this particular excursion you omitted or didn't know about Beaumont Hotel. This cafe caters to fly in persons. You land on the grass strip 1/2 mile east, then taxi into town, making sure to stop at the stop sign, then park across from the cafe in the Beaumont hotel. Been there, done that in my Cessna 172. Fun day.

I think I linked it in the description, but it’s a Teton brand from Amazon. It’s been a comfortable one, just a little big for some of my tents.

I used a cot like this for years in the Army and I hated hated hated those end pieces. Once together I loved the cot, but I'd love to have burned every one of those cots after I got out. Now I want one again to stay warmer and also to help my back lol. Thanks for the video! Love that area

How tall is the awning when attached to your camper?
@WestOkOverland19 күн бұрын
@@randypeaney7661 depends on how tall your camper is, and how you mount it on the brackets. For me I mounted it low enough it clears my garage door, but it’s still high enough I can stand under comfortably.
