As a twins fan I hope this happens. Clean house and start over with a ton of young talent. Get rid of Baldeli and the analytic nerds who run the team now. Please buy the Twins guys.

The Ishbia brothers are going to overpay for old stars and not produce. Look at Pheonix Suns, largest payroll in the NBA and they can't make it out of the first round of the playoffs and no young talent at all, and there won't be any on the horizon. They traded all of their draft picks and hedged everything on an old KD and a mid Brad Beal. While they aren't afraid to spend money, they aren't smart about spending money because all they do is name chase and that doesn't lead to a championship.

@Talkin'Twins you should cover that Vasquez's, Paddick's and Castro's contract come off the books in the beginning of '25 -26 off-season including Correa's contract reduces by 5 million. The Twins payroll Drops by 28 million before arbitration cases in '25 -26 off-season which means the Twins payroll will be around 102 -105 million with Correa on the team.

The Ishbias brothers own three professional teams (NBA, WNBA and American soccer), they routinely are in the top 20 percent in payroll on each team and produce competitive organizations. MN is not a small market team, the Twin cities itself is the 15th largest markets on par with San Diego the Twins reach goes into five states, the organization is an untapped regional power under the right ownership.

I think they will trade him and it would be quite smart to do it now to get as much assets as possible before his decline. The salary is pretty steep for the value provided. He gets injured a lot and over $30 million for half of a season is not worth it.

That’s why he won’t get traded. He can’t play a full season, BUT still makes 30+ a season. Unless the Twins eat a lot that money, he is a Twin for the length of the contract.

"the fail-vey's" emphasis this off season has been pitching, Ynoa, Eiberson Castellano while keeping Tonkin and Topa. The likely trade candidates for the twins is jeffers (6.1 million), alcala (1.5 million) and larnach (2.1 million). They have value in trade and saves 9.7 million in payroll while being redundant on the Twins. If Correa was on the trading block, "the fail-vey's" moves would be with position players as in prospect haul from a Correa trade would bring in top controllable pitching.

Correa was worth every penny of his salary in just 86 games this past season: All-Star, 152 OPS+ and 3.7 WAR. Teams are interested for good reason.

37 million this year for Correa, 32 million in '26. Correa's contract declines every year after the '25 season, if he has a bounce back year Correa is more likely to get traded next year.

@@moodswing4460the big difference is Correa's contract is up in four years if he doesn't win a silver slugger or MVP, Bregman is after an eight year contract. They both have risks, the reality is no contending team needs Correa's specific services right now outside of the braves and Mariners.

Twins are a mid market team and this is the way you have to run a team. Atleast all the teams in their division aren't big spenders. The Royals did spend some money last year though which was a nice change. When the Pirates spend money that is when you know hell has finally frozen over😂

Who's trading for Correa, the dodgers are bringing back Betts at shortstop. the Yankees are prioritizing other needs as they have Volpe at shortstop, NyM would have far more interest in Buxton after signing Siri. The only teams left for trade are Boston and Atlanta, Boston already gave up its top prospects for Crochet and Atlanta ranks 16th in the MLB so they don't have the farm system to acquire Correa. The only team that has the ability to get Correa is the Phillies, as they have turner and Bohm they will not meet "the fail-vey's" demand, so who is trading for Correa? I remind the payroll starting in the '25-26 office season for the Twins with Correa is 102 million before arbitration eligible players.

Interesting predictions, but you left out a lot of small market and mid-tier market teams. LA, BOS, SF, DET & HOU won't be the only teams that will be making big move this off-season The Pirates have a lot to gain in signing any one of those Japanese pitchers, but they could definitely stand to use a power-hitting first baseman.

What you are going to see is the death of professional sports. Ticket prices may not raise that much. (They have to get you into the park) But evrery thing else from parking to pretzels , soda and suds , will be so high that family night will only e attractive to hedge fund managers. Want to watch baseball on TV. Well unless you are interested in the Game of the Week- White Sox at Miami, or you have a local favorite, pay the piper to get Major League everything. You should be talking about the rumors about a Carlos Correa trade to either the NyY, NyM or LaD as a salary dump with no real value in prospects returned. If this happens, the Twins organization may as well leave, what's left of the Twins base won't forgive this kind of transaction after last year.
