What is Amazon FBA? Sorry, again, new to your videos. 😊
@KateyReads
@KateyReads Күн бұрын
No worries! It’s an online selling marketplace. So you send products into Amazon’s warehouse and it’s fulfilled by amazon. Meaning they pack it, ship it to buyer, and handle all customer service.

Yes I forgot to put links in the video! lol 😂 Scout IQ is a software that you can scan barcodes and see if a book is profitable for Amazon FBA.

@@ashley_miraculous_gacha2085 oh man. First, is the dust jacket paper or glossy? Removing oil from paper in general is hard since the fibers in paper are going to soak up that oil and quickly. If it’s a paperback book I would say you need to just buy her another copy :(

I sold a book about a dog breed and it had legal pad notes from the previous owners dog’s condition; people don’t mind when you’re honest about what they are getting; I love adding the flaws or materials or ISBN to title because some people don’t read description or look at all pictures; thanks always for sharing your experiences and research; continued blessings and success ❤

This is great info. I always knew that some people like the writing and inscriptions, but never thought to put it in my title. I usually just put it in my description. Some people like worn out, well loved, items.

i love selling vintage books with annoitations - i have 2 early 1950's arithmetic text books with some writing and formulas, even some old homework. i have a copy of Strawberry Girl with lots of teacher notes. oh and i just sold a copy of Codependent no more, which was heavily highlighted and also had notes i almost kept for me! lol book lovers understand there is this timeless connection with books, almost like a part of you is still in them after you read it <3

I have used the term "heavily annotated" but usually not because I think someone will be looking for that, more so they are forewarned that it isn't pristine. I've definitely been aware there's an interest, but I think its also very hard to find antique books with writing throughout, because books were much more precious in the 1800's. I love inscribed books myself, when I'm selling a book with an inscription, I also type it out in my description, especially if there are any names, I try to include the full name. There's always a chance an ancestor searching for books about their lineage will be searching the name and find it

I love that idea too. Ancestry searches are so underrated but a really profitable niche.

To anyone watching this, Katey’s custom bookmarks are amazing. She created a whole set of bookmarks and a journal out of a Labyrinth VHS cover for my wife. She not only gave me options of what cover but kept me updated through the whole process. My wife was amazed of the quality.

There's been so many learning curves with book reselling for me. I would find a good source for buying books in bulk, and then new management would change buying guidelines or would cut out selling in bulk altogether. Selling to used book stores had faster turnaround for small profit books, but it was stressful to depend on that to cover living expenses. When my main source for buying in bulk flopped, I went back to buying individual books. Road trips to hunt for books were fun, and I didn't need to deal with all of the trash from media pallets. My strategy was to find higher end books to sell on Ebay, and price them at half of the Amazon price. I'm sure buyers bought the books are then resold on Amazon, but I was happy with half of the Amazon price. Changing book reselling to a secondary source of income helped too. I wasn't focused on thinking I need a certain amount of money for living expenses, and capital for box truck rentals, media gaylords, and shipping supplies, by the end of the month. I still buy 2 gaylords of books a week to stay busy with something but it was freeing to stop buying 40 gaylords a month. I quit thinking as much on a monthly sales basis and more of a quarter basis. Some months, I might not sell the first high end book, but then there's months where I sell 4, so it all averages out. I've been transferring any profit from reselling books and investing it into 5 stocks that pay dividends, nothing huge, but in another 5 years of compounding, it will cover 1/3 of living costs. Or I could keep letting it compound another 15 years and semi-retire. Side note, I've never been big into collecting things before, and sure, I want to sell every book I have, but its kind of cool to show friends a high end book like a rare OOP photobook. So in a way, I enjoy collecting the rare books. It makes having patience easier, lol rather than having boxes and boxes of the Left Behind Series books.
