Thanks so much for this! Straight to the point, logical, not harsh. Quite useful advice. I’m 31 and going through a divorce, like you mentioned I was previously scared to be single. My ex left February but since then I’ve been reading lots of books, I’ve started gardening which is something I was never fussed about before, I’m having therapy to iron out some struggles but it’s the first time ever I feel like I am embracing being single. Thank you for the video!

Did your wife suddenly leave you for her professional councillor? Did she suddenly cut you off from your joint home business income? Did she try and push a business debt of thousands into your lap? Did she leave you lost at sea with nowhere to go other than your elderly parents? Did she leave you with severe grief and mental health issues? Did she accuse you of all sorts of previous (lies) with the Police? All in a bid to stop you from receiving a decent business settlement and half the house sale racking up £££s in Solicitor's fees. If so, maybe when you do eventually meet someone else and get your life back together, you too can make a smug video like this also? I know I will.

I have watched a few videos like these, and this is definitely one that makes the most sense. My first relationship lasted 28 years. Literally someone i was at school with, first kiss etc. That relationship ended when i was 45. I had then, joint care of a 4 year old child. I had numerous relationships after that in the next ten years, to now. I was rarely single. Then suddenly 2 years ago, a 4 year relationship ended, and i just stopped everything. I was miserable always being single, but i was for 2 years. In the last few months i have realised being single is ok. Most importantly, its made me more fussy. I remember how miserable it can be, being with the wrong person. That break was so important. Now i can imagine being with someone again, but only if they are better than my current life which is good

Glad it resonated. We don't always make the best decisions when in an emotional state, so a period of self discovery after the dust has settled can help build the foundation for the rest of your life, whether that's single or in another relationship. It's a cliche, but you gotta learn to love yourself again. 👍

Good to hear a Brit's perspective (Ozzie accent?) rather than the usual American's critique. I'm older than you and after quite a few relationships and a marriage over those years, my overall assessment says I'll never go back. My last one was a platonic friend whom I secretly loved, 35 years ago. When we met again 9 years ago, she leapt on me, expressed "undying love" but couldn't move in yet for practical reasons. As an artist she was trying hard to step up into 'fine art' recognition. Meanwhile, I'm building my land up and relearning my own dormant art skills after years with no facilities to practice in. After a number of attempts, she eventually got voted into a very well known British fine art academy, especially by male artist members (her admission...she's very pretty for her age and flirty). Next thing I know she's hooked up with one of those artists (hypergamy?) and left, claiming she can't live like me and that I "don't appreciate fine art". That was after 5 years of being together albeit often miles apart. That women so easily flip when opportunities arise, has informed me that all women are on the lookout to step upwards to another, until their advancing age forces them to take what they've got. It's inbuilt, irrefutable and historically proven, especially nowadays. Being single has given me the space to become my best self, more than relationships ever have. I think our culture is fkd, and by design. Whoever decided to ruin us, knew that women are the weakest link, manipulated their psychology, and it's succeeding spectacularly.

I found myself single after a 30 year relationship at the age of 58 (not my fault or choice)! It was very tough at the time as I'd never really been on my own before. You don't just loose a partner, do you! Nine years later and I find I'm very happy being single - it's been quite a journey of self discovery, one I'm so glad I've had the opportunity to take. Make the most of the opportunities in front of you....

You sound a bit like me 4 years ago. Prostate issues, unfulfilled at work, and not enough time for myself. I first set a goal to retire at June-end, 2023 in my 60th year. To reinforce this, I gave my boss 2 years advance notice. I then went about single-mindedly preparing for retirement. First step was eliminating all debt, so I went crazy aggressive paying down the car loan and the mortgage, and saving $$$. I also began to take better care of my health, adopted the KETO diet, and dropped 19% of my body weight. At work, I worked just as hard as ever to finish with a flourish and make a statement to the company. It caused my boss to give me a promotion with 6 months to go in the hope that I would continue. It felt so good to have enough FU money to be able to firmly say NO! It's been almost a year, but I have zero regrets about retiring. I now do what I want, when I want, as I please, and couldn't be more content with life. And that's because I still have my health. So don't wait too long because age catches up with all of us!

And I thought I was the only one. My goodness, that's almost a hundred percent the same as my life situation. I love having peace and quiet, most people I meet are NPCs and totally boring. The mainstream has always gotten on my nerves, now I can't stand it for a second. It's weird to think that you only have a good twenty years left before the lights go out.🤘

Good video, thanks for your thoughts :) I´m a year older than you and you´re totally right. It is interesting how your view of life changes with life stages and age. I think very differently now than I did when I was younger and with age comes experience and dare I say it, a bit of wisdom. I´ve never been happier than I am right now. Sometimes I can´t help thinking I´d like to go back in time, but knowing what I know now. Probably would things a bit differently the second time around, but then again, it´s no use having regrets and I for one am looking forward to growing old. Thanks for sharing!

Glad you enjoyed. I've always been a "look forward" rather than "look back" kind of guy. But as John Lennon said "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans" - and while I am beginning to accept that I'm nearer retirement, I don't want to miss out on the present by obsessing about what future might hold. I'm enjoying my 50s, I am lucky because I am healthy, have decent job, have a great partner - so what's not like 👍🏾😁

Once I have found one, I will update....the only other one that came close but does not have great projection is mont blanc explorer. I have also used jubilee scents, and the creed viking and Portugal is very strong...everyone can smell it.... especially portugal

Can someone please explain to me the advantages of using Curve (besides that its card can be paired with this ring)? I understand that you can link all the cards you carry in your wallet with the Curve card. However, if I want to use a specific card for payment, I have to select it first in the Curve app, right? Isn't it simpler then to just store all cards in Google/Apple Pay, select the card there, and directly pay with the phone?
@level50lifestyle
@level50lifestyle 2 ай бұрын
The great thing about Curve - other than you can use the physical card to represent ALL your cards (if you don't want to use Google/Apple Pay) - is that you can change your mind later and swap the payment to a different card after paying (using their "Go Back in Time Feature").

First off, f*ck your day job. You're too good at this to be only posting once a month. Second, I'd bail on product reviews because while they get alot of views it's a transactional audience. They come for specific info and don't care about the channel. They won't help you grow your base of superfans so no point catering to them. Third, it is best in the beginning to be know for something, the 50 niche is wide - start narrow then expand. This video could have been 10 videos about differant aspects of dating at fifty. Shorter videos tend to get better retention. Pick one aspect, make a 6 to 8 minute video on it really leaning on your value add (advice, info, encouragement). Don't be afraid to be repetitive in your videos, most successful KZbinrs have their take on things that they explain from multiple angles. Forth, you intro was way too long and meandering, I wanted to leave because you were being repetitive on the vagueness of dating at fifty instead of the details (much more engaging stuff that). Go straight to the hook that reinforces the titles then into the content. Leave the musings for later once the viewer is hooked and intersted in you. Do 5 of 6 dating related videos sprinkled with some general 50 year old guy stuff videos that's not totally unrelated (skin care, grooming, wardrobe of whatever interests you). You can also do some things that are more self helpy like reimagining yourself at 50 or starting over single at 50) it should be a universe that has some sense to it. No air fryers, at least not yet or until you can put some kind of unique spin on it (Healthy Cooking over 50 - the air fryer). It's all about good catchy titles that promise some info people want or the answer to an intriguing question.... Do this every week for 6 months, and you're on your way. Do it for another 6 months and you might just have something. Good luck to you

Yep. Took me a while also to get back to working out, nothing too heavy. I have some free weights, a bench and some bands. I'm 55, I try to do 1 body part a day, 5 to 6 days a week. I spend about 20 - 35 minutes or so working out, and I walk every day for about 40 or so minutes. It makes me also feel good, helps clear the mind, I find it beneficial. Of course, eating healthy plays the biggest role.
